"Florida school systems suck and Hernando county is really bad. Low pay. There are great teachers here but the system is terrible!! I put two girls through Hernando school. Both got bright futures scholarships but not because the schools helped. They fight good parents every step Of the way for ridiculous rules. It’s a retirement community and no real job opportunities here and zero economical development. And that’s the way the county commissioners like it. Very good ole boys club still alive and well in Hernando county. "

"Family friendly safe. Great place to raise kids, downside athletics are not at a high standard. Schools through 8 grade are great, not a lot of good high school options."

"My neighborhood is quiet and we have never had any problems with neighbors. We have lived here for 14 years but the home is big and we want to downsize and obtain a smaller home "
- Trulia User

" Generally quite and feel safe. County codes for land and home are somewhat strict. They enforce the codes to some people and not to others? More restaurants would be nice in the area as have to go several miles to the main business area's to eat. This area is more for families or retirees than for single people. Not a lot of nightlife which is good. Nice place to live because only about an hour to nice beaches and other attractions. "

"Lived here in this neighborhood after purchasing the House 7/2013 since January of 2014. The people in the community are extremely friendly. Top rated schools, Springstead High School was a Blue Ribbon school within the top 10 in the Nation the past 2 years. Easy to get around with many fast food resaurants nearby a great Multiplex movie theatre, several arks in the area includig a dog park for pet lovers. Access to all the Major Stores, Home Depot, Loewes, J.C Penny, Walmart, Staples. Many commercual restaurants such as Applebees, Teas Roadhouse, Carabbas, Chilis, Ruby Tuesday and so many more. New stores being completed such as Dicks Sporting Goods, Hobby Lobby and Bonefish Willies just being completed in a Brand new shopping center nearby on Cortez Blvd. A great place to raise kids as their are many children of all ages in the area. This is no longer just a snowbird or retirement community, although that is still part of the dynamic. This area is really a up and coming area!"

"Neighbihrhood is quiet, Safe, Clean, people and pet friendly and has Springstead High School around the corner which was rated top 10% i the nation in 2013 and top 5% in the Nation this year 2014. Great if you;re looking to move into a good school district and have kids. Also great for singles , couples and seniors or snowbirds as there is virtually no crime and the Hernando County Sheriffs Office is great and are always aroud and visible making for a safe neighborhood!"

"I love the people in the neighborhood, they are friendly, the only real problem is there aren't enough side walks and people use Augustine a thru street and speed on it. There is a real bad accident at the corner of Augustine and Landover about every 3 to 4 months. I would have prefered to live on one of the side streets."
