5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis is the best public school in Pinellas County for an autistic child. I have been to several schools for my son, and he responded best to the women here. I think most of them are mommies or just naturally nurturing. Ms Hurd, the director has such a comforting demeanor. All her her staff is just wonderful, can't say anything bad about any of them. They all try very hard, patient, dedicated, and they have a way to make the parents feel calm, and see hope when they may not have originally going in there. Ms Gonzalez was very good with my son, she taught him so much, and Estela Cumba in their front office held my hand through all the paperwork stuff and really educated me with school processes and procedures. To conclude, I can honestly tell you my son is advancing everyday, and he has reached milestones I never thought he would. These women can speak to him and get through to him in their own special ways. Many others could not, even me. Still even me. They've truly taught my son things I couldn't. Their ASD Dept is very impressive. The school's general office I think is very organized and professional without overdosing you in professionalism. Real people. If you are looking for an ASD program, give them a chance.Parent Review1y ago - Dixie M. Hollins High School

"I have lived here since 2017 and I absolutely love this neighborhood. It's quite, friendly, safe and very child friendly. There is never any crime and you hardly ever hear emergency sirens. Every single neighbor has been wonderful and polite except one. "

"Best place to live in DC. It’s a beautiful neighborhood that is urban but not downtown. It’s all about the park and trail, tons of restaurants, things to do, grocery stores, markets, bar. Has its own metro in easy walking distance and a trail that connect you to the east side of the city. "

"NoMa Bid has been creating a huge sense of community in Eckington and NoMa. For one they keep the area so clean and you always see their workers sweeping the sidewalks, changing trashing, maintenance at the dog park. And then there’s the events, most at the A.T. Park and the MBTrail. Movie in the park, farmers market, holiday events like pumpkin patch/contest, and of course the mural walls festival. The trail and park have beautiful murals everywhere and each year local artist renew most of them. (NoMa in Color). Also the dog parks is a big vibe in the area, Eckington Dog Park is the best in the city, but there are 4 in the area. Also, Bouldering Project is a cool bouldering and fitness gym. Theres tons of grocery, restaurants, bars and beer gardens, etc. it’s surround by Union Market, Brookland, Shaw, H Street… all connect my the MBT (bike/walk trail) and NoMa/Gallaudet Metro Station (subway). "20 minutes to town, one can go through downtown 25 mph or there are other roads through the countryside that have no lights and higher speed limits to get to the other end of town. 30 min to Carson City. One hour to Reno"

"Dogs that can’t be controlled by the owners. It puts you and your dog at risk because as you can imagine it’s larger dogs causing issues. Also people who may not live in your building walk dogs over in your area and leave feces."
