4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageHas one community based event a year but no real effort to collaborate with community, families or each other. Principal cares more about scores than student engagement, or well being. He’s only focused on his own bottom line but couldn’t even name more than a handful of students or be aware / involved. Teachers seem to work really hard but the extra burden increases the turnover rate at this school. Causing coworkers to constantly be strangers and that environment is evident in lack of collaboration in the community and even be harmful as students move to higher grades.Parent Review11mo ago - Booker Middle School

3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThere are two Booker High Schools - the Booker VPA and what we started calling GenPop. VPA students are sequestered in their own private curriculum and treated like royalty while mainstream students are herded like livestock through their classes, getting bullied and ignored. Parent inquiries and complaints are met with indifference. Not where I want my child to be.Parent Review1y ago - Check out schools near 1050 23rd St.

"IBSSA or also known as the Museum District is convenient to downtown, airport, University Parkway. It is West of the trail between the Museum of Art and Whimsey and The Ringling Museum. 2 parks in neighborhood are on the Bay., Spectacular Sunsets! 1,150 households are active in a variety of neighbor events. Annual picnic, annual yard sale weekend with over 60 households participating, and the Sun Circle Art Festival in March (March 14, 2015). It is a safe neighborhood, we walk, run, play with dogs and children in our parks and yards. The annual dues for the neighborhood association is only $20! That is $20 a year! I would not live anywhere else."

"I live here. Truly unique community, especially for Florida. Intellectual and artistic, lots of ballet, arts, acting along with constant sun, kayaking and the best sunsets on Earth. There's also a first rate college and a pretty good art school as well as access to the sixth best public school in the United States. Nova Collegium!"
