9/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageAs a student who is attending Freeport High School, I can honestly tell you that I have experienced first hand what many parents have not. I have seen no favoritism in the classrooms, and are treated fairly. Teachers make every effort to inform the parents of any and every change made within the school, as well as connecting them to their childrens education and progression. There are several clubs and after school societies that make being involved with the school very easy and fun. As for being a small rural school, it makes it easier for teachers to help students who need extra help, and encourage those who are excelling, however, our school is growing with each year that passes. I am proud to say that there is very little to no extreme problems at this school such as bullying and gossip, which can be a very bad thing. As a student ambassador and an active key club member, I can honestly say that Freeport high school is one of the very best.Student Review6y ago - Van R. Butler Elementary School

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI sent my special needs child to this school, they kept telling me he's fine we can handle him and within the month he was kicked out. Because he is too challenging for them. He was only going a couple days a week. I'm glad they are not wasting our time anymore!Parent Review9y ago - Freeport Elementary School

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe school has a policy of searching backpacks without a well funded reasonable reason, hearsay is not good enough reason to do a search, in my opinion it violates a kids 4th amendment rights. They will also intimidate your child and question them without you being present which can be dangerous if they intimidate them to admit something they haven’t done. If your kid goes there make sure you talk to them so they ask for a parent to be present to answer questions.A lot of bad stuff goes around in this school (drugs, bullying, sexual harassment) and very little is done to the ones that really are getting this stuff into the school.Parent Review7mo ago - Mossy Head School

8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMossy Head School, is possibly the best school I have seen. My daughter has been going for 3 years. Since Pre kindergarten. The teachers are very excited to teach. My daughter loves going to school every day. The school has rules, and the kids follow them! I never see kids running in the halls. Instead the following in lines! During pickup, not chaos like I expected instead the kids come out and sit patiently for parents to come get them. Sure they are talking and laughing and having a good time but there is structure. The school is also kind of hidden. Can't see from hwy 90.Parent Review7y ago - Walton Virtual Franchise

"Very dog friendly area. They bring water bowls to your table at an outdoor restaurant for the dogs. The only real problem I see with the dogs is that a lot of people do not pick up after them. They even provide doggy poo bags and a place to put it. Very disturbing. "

"There are a lot of places you can walk to or bike to. Restaurants, ice cream, General Store, beach. People are super nice and friendly. There is a lot of musical entertainment around. People always ask where the name comes from since there are no mountains. I pull out my phone and show them the beautiful pictures I have of the blue flowers all over the area 😁"
