9/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis is our fourth year at the school and I continue to be very pleased with our family's experience. Our new principal, Dr. Reichenberg, sets a wonderful tone and example. She is warm, engaged, compassionate, and by all accounts is a terrific leader. Communication is great. They have introduced new programs for the students this year, including quarterly field days, monthly awards ceremonies, and other opportunities for positive recognition. My children have had excellent teachers who support them both inside the classroom and out (attending games, plays, awards ceremonies, etc). Parental involvement is strong and there is a very active PTO. While it is a large school, if you can get involved, it quickly "shrinks" and feels very much like a family. We moved to JCP specifically for this elementary school and have not been disappointed.Parent Review2mo ago - Fruit Cove Middle School

8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageIv’e been going to this school for 3 years and luckly its my last. in 6th grade i was bullied by the other kids and still hear them TILL THIS DAY saying bad things about me and others. This school needs to teach more about bullying because its disgusting. If you arent popular or arent liked by the staff then they will ignore every need. The school cares more about what a girl is wearing than actual bullying and racism. The schools dress code is also extremely sexist, my friend got dress coded for wearing shorts that werent that short but i have seen boys wearing even shorter shorts. They will not allow you to wear pj pants for absolutely no reason. This school also does NOTHING about the racism. I have seen my friend being mocked and being said racial slurs to and the school hasnt done anything about it. The amount of fights i have experianced in 3 years is absolutely crazy. Last year there was a fight that occured and a teacher got fired. He wasnt involved with it, it was just by his door. You are assigned lunch seats and are not allowed to move? They dont take attendance so theres no reason we should be assigned. You have to pay school points to buy a pass thats only a week long to sit with your friends. The food is so cheap its disgusting, the water also tastes so bad. You are not allowed to have your phones out at all even before 7:30 and not even at lunch. If you are going to send your kid here, dont. This school is horrible. I am mentally and physically drained from this experience. SAVE THE CHILDREN!!Student Review2mo ago - Creekside High School

9/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageHonestly it’s just a school. If your can adhere to the rules and put effort into your classes you’ll do well here. it’s actually really easy to make friends, as in every classroom there is a diverse population of people (personality and race wise). and as for learning, i mean it’s school, we learn boring stuff all the time and we just gotta suck it up. the teachers will often give the class options on how to learn a required standard, which is nice. i haven’t met any teachers with an outdated way of teaching yet either. the AP and dual programs are amazing. Cafeteria food isn’t bad either (it’s not good but…it’s school so). they have good extracurricular programs(meaning they all have equal funding and there’s options to choose from too). NOW for mental health…if your child goes to the counselor and opens up about their bad mental health or personal struggles, don’t be shocked if cops pull up at your front door and backer act your kid (your kid will get sent to the psych ward by the cops, and you have to pay for it btw). and for IEP’s or 504 all teachers i’ve had so far have adhered by them pretty willingly, and i haven’t heard any bad stories regarding them either. but i guess we will see cause im going back in august with a service dog:////.Student Review9mo ago - Check out schools near 717 Bird Branch Way.

"It’s quite small and centered between route 210, Waldorf, and National Harbor. Most living here are families with good jobs. Also it has become an area with steady growth in the surrounding commercial zoning locations due to the increase in residential property development. It’s a budding location with a lot of potential to offer its current and future residents."

"NoMa Bid has been creating a huge sense of community in Eckington and NoMa. For one they keep the area so clean and you always see their workers sweeping the sidewalks, changing trashing, maintenance at the dog park. And then there’s the events, most at the A.T. Park and the MBTrail. Movie in the park, farmers market, holiday events like pumpkin patch/contest, and of course the mural walls festival. The trail and park have beautiful murals everywhere and each year local artist renew most of them. (NoMa in Color). Also the dog parks is a big vibe in the area, Eckington Dog Park is the best in the city, but there are 4 in the area. Also, Bouldering Project is a cool bouldering and fitness gym. Theres tons of grocery, restaurants, bars and beer gardens, etc. it’s surround by Union Market, Brookland, Shaw, H Street… all connect my the MBT (bike/walk trail) and NoMa/Gallaudet Metro Station (subway).
