5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageUnfortunatley, this school has gone down tremendously . My son is a junior and every year has become more worse and the turnover rate even greater. There is no accountability for the students, and zero control over the students. There needs to be more security. ALso the bathrooms are disgusting, dirty or full of students smoking or vaping. Because they cant control the amount of students they lock and close them, so no bathrooms are available. If a bathroom is available there is no toilet paper and it is very unsanitary.Parent Review3mo ago - Rodgers Middle School

3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI sent my daughter to this school for her 6th, 7th & 8th grade year. Over the past 3 years my daughter was bullied. The kids there would call her all the names regarding her weight, and simply because of her pimples. Her 6th grade year she reported the bullying to the main office and nobody did anything to help her. She had to get a schedule change out of some of her classes because the bullying would make her feel so depressed! They didn't even talk to the kids who bullied her. So now those kids think it's okay to bully people. My daughter is a sweet angel, and I feel so bad that I let her down and put her through 3 years of just depression. Her 8th grade year she would always ask to skip school, and as a mother who loves her kid I would let her skip at least 1-2 days every week or two. If you're planning on sending your kid to this school, please don't! Your kid will gain nothing but depression, and suicidal thoughts. Not to mention, the teachers barely do their job! My daughter gained absolutely nothing from this school, the only teacher she ever liked and gained something out of was one teacher who she only got to have once in 7th grade for Civics. Worst 3 years of my daughters life and I'm so happy she's out of that mess and at a way better high school!Parent Review7mo ago - Sessums Elementary School

"I have lived here since 2017 and I absolutely love this neighborhood. It's quite, friendly, safe and very child friendly. There is never any crime and you hardly ever hear emergency sirens. Every single neighbor has been wonderful and polite except one. "

"Best place to live in DC. It’s a beautiful neighborhood that is urban but not downtown. It’s all about the park and trail, tons of restaurants, things to do, grocery stores, markets, bar. Has its own metro in easy walking distance and a trail that connect you to the east side of the city. "
- Ryan B

"NoMa Bid has been creating a huge sense of community in Eckington and NoMa. For one they keep the area so clean and you always see their workers sweeping the sidewalks, changing trashing, maintenance at the dog park. And then there’s the events, most at the A.T. Park and the MBTrail. Movie in the park, farmers market, holiday events like pumpkin patch/contest, and of course the mural walls festival. The trail and park have beautiful murals everywhere and each year local artist renew most of them. (NoMa in Color). Also the dog parks is a big vibe in the area, Eckington Dog Park is the best in the city, but there are 4 in the area. Also, Bouldering Project is a cool bouldering and fitness gym. Theres tons of grocery, restaurants, bars and beer gardens, etc. it’s surround by Union Market, Brookland, Shaw, H Street… all connect my the MBT (bike/walk trail) and NoMa/Gallaudet Metro Station (subway).
