3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageAs an 8th grader about to graduate I would not recommend attending this school. They treat the kids there horribly and don’t care much about them. There are fights every other day. and the teachers there do not know how to control the kids, because of that most classes are often out of control and I end up getting headaches almost every day. The administration scream at us through the microphone and blow whistles at us like we’re in prison, and most of the time it’s because we don’t have our feet under the tables. It doesn’t help that some of the administration have very high pitched voices, so It gives me a headache every time they do it. They really don’t care about bullying and sexual assault that much and the people who do it get no punishment. This has happend to several of my friends and the people who assaulted them had no punishment. And the food is awful, when I was in 6th grade I got a peach from the cafeteria and when I opened it up it was rotten and moldy in the inside. I have also walked into kids vaping in the bathroom several times and nothing had been done about it. I do not recommend sending your child here.Student Review2y ago - Manatee Cove Elementary School

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageReally upset and annoyed with this school and its communication methods. They lack it. My son has not had a teacher since the beginning of the school year, they are in between teachers and it affects his grades entirely. The staff are rude and disrespectful. There are a select few whom are nice and caring towards your kids. However, there are others who are disrespectful every single day to parents and students! Specifically Jennifer Cascio. The way she talks to parents and students is uncalled for and is a daily occurrence. I’ve witness multiple situations with her. One being, her getting in a 5 year olds face pointing fingers in his face and yelling at him. She then proceeded to slam a door in his face because he did not answer her correctly. She is not professional and should not be around students. She cares more about how you park and pick up your children than caring for their well being. She likes to gossip with other teachers in the pickup line and walk into classrooms making comments about the children’s parents. She is what gives this school a bad reputation. My advice is to keep your children away from her. She is not a nice human being and should definitely not be working around children.Parent Review1y ago - University High School

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI’ve never seen so many kids dropping out of a School because of Bullying. The Principal and/or Staff have effectively turned the School over to the students who think it’s okay to harass and assault other kids that don’t fit into their Social Clicks. I’m going to be pursuing this further with the Govenors office in Tallahassee.Parent Review2mo ago - Volusia Virtual School

"Good little City. All kinds of stores, gas stations, hardware stores, appliance stores, put put golf, blue springs park,Home Depot,Lowe’s, all local and chain food restaurants. Your children can walk around and feel safe but I would always supervise them anyway in today’s new world."

"I feel safe for me and raising my kids here. The city is great for seasonal and monthly events. It’s not too overbuilt with houses on top of each other. My kids can play outside and I feel safe knowing they are fine and my neighbors keep an eye to make sure everything is ok. Neighbors are close and we talk often. They keep an eye on the house and will call if anything is going on or just if your dog got out just to help. Also close enough to everything that I hardly have to leave town for anything but still within driving distance of the beach or mall or anything outside town. Amazing place for raising children and living comfortably "
