7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWe had a really bad experience in this school. We moved from out state, and my kids were zoned for this school. In 3rd grade, my son had a 24-year-old, new-graduate teacher that had no clue how to treat children. She would constantly threat my son with referrals and would call us on a weekly basis to complain about his behavior for the any little thing. She and the school counselor even suggested that we take him to a specialist for evaluation. It has been two years since this happened. My son is in a different school now, and he is thriving. He is an A-B student and has been a safety patrol because of his good behavior. I never took my son to any "specialist." He has never been a problematic child.Parent Review9mo ago - Liberty Middle School

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis school is hands down the best school to go to if you are moving to Ocala. The teachers are wonderful, and my son really likes it at West Port high. Kids are very nice, and the teachers really care about the kids and take their time with them. This school is way better than Forest high, which is going down hill and west port is going up . I strongly recommend sending your Son/daughter to this high school :) .Parent Review3y ago - Marion Virtual Franchise

"My neighborhood has great access to public transportation, has many public parks, national parks and hidden treasures that provide lively activities in Ocala. From its lakes, secret beaches, springs, nature spots, museums, and downtown district."

"I’ve lived here my entire life. I was born in 2000 and am turning 24 in October. Ocala has some things for little children, but it mainly caters to the adult and wealthy populations (ie, downtown & WEC). There is little to nothing to do as a teenager/young adult, or a poor person, for free or low cost. Ocala’s refusal to cater to the young adult and poor population has been a very direct contributor to the rise of drug use and violent crime. "

"We have a community recreation center that has a gym, billiards, pickleball, basketball and tennis courts along with outdoor trail."
- Modsires

"The weather here is amazing! The Neighborhood is a diverse area with many friendly people. Lots of people walk on the long sidewalk that rust along Marion Oaks Trail. There is also endless paved/dirt trails to ride on the Green Way. I ride my E-trike to the trailhead on 49th ave, it’s 10 minutes from my house, there is another trailhead near by as well. There’s a 2 story Publix, 711, hair place, nail place and a Walmart within 5 miles from here. Plus the Beach is 45 minutes away. The Rainbow River is 20 minutes away And they are all super easy to find. "
