4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageHorrible. A young, new teacher was completely ill equipped to interact with a student with special needs. Her answer was to punish, embarrass and humiliate the student for his behavior, going so far as to tell him an 8 year old child after being absent one day for a doctor's visit that "they had such a wonderful day without him there". It is saddening that a Christian school seems not to practice what they preach. 5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageOur disdain for this school is not because of the teaching staff or the school itself, it is based on the ineffective and quite honestly, worthless administration. The Guidance Department in particular is a joke! Guidance is supposed to be just that, guidance for our children to help them succeed and prepare for college or otherwise. The Guidance staff at this school does not have time for the students and has even told my student that “they are not special just because they have As”. Great confidence booster! If they say they are going to do something, plan on following up “several” times because chances are they did not. This school claims to be all about college preparedness, but keep in mind your child will have to navigate through a lot of it on their own. My child’s guidance counselor has sent out emails with scholarship info, only to find that deadline had already passed. I will tell you that the teaching staff is undervalued. I had little concerns with the teachers. It is the admin that is awful. And the admin is crucial to the success of a school. My other pet peeve is that this school focuses on entirely the wrong things! Instead of worrying about a rip in the jeans or a shoulder being shown, we should encourage appropriate behaviors among the students. They tell these kids to be adults, but then the hypocrisy is that they treat them like children when it comes to their individuality. This is high school. In the real world they need to be prepared for many different things, which includes the choice and freedom to wear what you want. I realize this is an educational institution so there should be some regulations in place, but this school makes this much too important.Parent Review2y ago

"We just moved here from the Kissimmee area and couldn't be happier. We were looking for a small town feel, less traffic, and friendlier people - yet close enough to get to our Orlando jobs. The Clermont/Minneola area is beautiful with rolling hills and huge lakes that are great for fishing and boating. It seems like a growing area with new stores and restaurants popping up everywhere. We live in Oak Valley and already know most of our neighbors which is a far cry from our experience in the Kissimmee and Orlando Metro areas. Everyone is so nice here and welcoming. We frequent the local Tiki Bar off of Lake Minneola which seems to be a popular place for the locals. Sure, if you are looking for happening nightlife - stay in Orlando. If you want a bit of the country and simple living, come here."
