Bullying is insane! Staff does nothing and no matter how many times it’s brought up it gets brushed under the rug! And they only care about test scores. Teacher Tamara Philips is THE WORST MATH TEACHER I have ever stumbled on! If your child struggles with math already, avoid her as their teacher because she will not give help when it’s asked for and says”refer back to notes” as if that will teach a child! Simply put she doesn’t teach! She’s a robot spewing information and nothing more! She also posts inappropriate content on her Facebook that demeans students and parents! Very unprofessional. If your child is not good at testing but has straight A’s they still place them based solely on the test scores which in most cases just dumbs down the student and they learn nothing all year only because they don’t do well on tests! Worst school experience ever for my child! We won’t be back next year!

Teachers do not communicate with the parents. I realize a lot of parents do not get involved but some of us do care and want to be involved. My grandchildren go to this school and theirs no control of students bullying and misbehaving. My grandchildren get pushed around, her lunch takin from her and she’s in been smacked by another child for not giving them her food. School bus line gets out of control with a few students who like to push kids down and bully them. I worry every day about my grandchildren going to school

I dislike this school. I will try my hardest to get my child in a better school next year.

Cons: This school is not for someone looking for any "easy out" of the traditional brick and mortar school. The coursework is very time consuming. Many typical daily assignments in the virtual school would be broken down and completed as multiple assignments over weeks at a traditional school. The virtual school also expects the student to have a firm handle on all basic computer programs; including Powerpoint presentations, Excel, Word processing, emailing, submitting audio files, digital files, etc. For someone just starting out, the time it takes to learn the programs and processes of submitting work via the internet has to be accounted for. This is my son's first year at the school and he has learned both subject material and computing skills. Pros: The system keeps parents aware of what is going on with the student and in a very timely manner. All teachers are quick to respond, and test & assignments are graded and recorded within hours (sometimes minutes) of submittal. - The curriculum is engaging and thorough. - Classwork is extremely portable and accessible at anytime.
