3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI graduated Killian High in 2000 and was very happy with the school and went straight to a four year college after graduation. (Florida International University then University of Miami). It has outstanding AP and Honors classes that really prepare you for college. There can be some bad elements in the school but for the most part if you enroll in the advanced classes and stay busy with extracurriculuar activitites you will succeed. If you enroll your teen in this school do NOT put them in the regular classes. AP and Honors classes all the way. Regular classes tend to be full of the underachievers and kids that barely speak english. The school is over 60% Hispanic. Keep your teen busy while at this school. There are a plethora of outstanding activities to keep them out of trouble. From what I hear they do not allow the students to leave campus during the day anymore. When I went to the school we were allowed to have lunch at Ron Ehmann park next door until a huge gang riot broke out one day circa 1998 that made the park off limits during school hours. "Keep the children away from the water areas. The area is well guarded and secure. Gated community. Tennis courts, gym, swimming area. Nice park in area with a variety of activities. Monthly meetings. Input from parents welcome. "

"There are many families in the neighborhood, a lot of traffic for school in the morning but definitely a lot to do for children. Avoid children falling into bad habits because there are a lot of rude entitled children who live in the area . But this is one of the nicest areas to live in if you don’t mind traffic and lots of diversity. People are up at all times at night."

"Fairly easy access to the turnpike. Traffic around the neighborhood can be hectic. Access to 874 is also pretty close but again traffic can be pretty bad"
