"I lived in this neighborhood for over ten years so it is truly home for me. There has been a decrease in more popular stores because of online shopping, but most of these can be found in the malls in Viera and Melbourne, both of which are a 20-30 minute drive away. "

"I live here. Great location for a family or retirees. Parks, playgrounds, boat ramps, fishing, and beaches within minutes of driving and even bicycling. If you want to go further. You have SR 528 (beach line), and HWY 95 minutes away. If you really want to getaway jump on the cruise ships that are so close you can see them from the park you just rode to on your bicycle with your kids to play on the playground. After that go eat at the restaurant at the port and wave to the people leaving on the Disney and other ships heading out to the ocean and a tropical island. "

"I grew up in central Merritt Island. It has long been one of my favorite places in Florida. Merritt Island has beautiful beach views, friendly people, great shopping and is located near Port Canaveral, The Space Center and the beach. "

"We live here. We moved here for the recreation; boating, fishing, birding, hiking. Sykes Creek is the best manatee habitat in the world; not my opinion, a local biologist told us. MICS is a great private school with alot to offer: STEM, sports, volunteering, music, etc. The beaches and Orlando are 30-45 minutes away. Close, but removed. It's like FL used to be!!"
