3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI just found out that Sunrise Elementary School is going to open an EBD unit I hope and pray to God that it's not true my son was in that school and his academic level was literally much lower than when I entered, I had to literally push thousands of letters so that certain people did their job, although not everyone is negligent, you have people who work there only because they must comply with your schedule to receive a payment, the interest for the student and their needs is very much for their priorities. Although they are not all, unfortunately they have very little empathy and concern for the students. My son has improved a lot at the school where he was assigned if he returns to this school it would be a setback for him. PLEASE!!! train the staff if you are going to open an EBD remember that you have the future and education in your hands in my personal experience compared to the new school where you are you have a lot to learn and above all people to train there are no words to describe my son's progress and the peace of mind I feel where he is. My son has made a lot of progress they were right when they transferred him to his current school they DO have everything my son needs.Parent Review11mo ago - Check out schools near 533 Eagle Pointe S.

"I have lived here since 2017 and I absolutely love this neighborhood. It's quite, friendly, safe and very child friendly. There is never any crime and you hardly ever hear emergency sirens. Every single neighbor has been wonderful and polite except one. "

"Best place to live in DC. It’s a beautiful neighborhood that is urban but not downtown. It’s all about the park and trail, tons of restaurants, things to do, grocery stores, markets, bar. Has its own metro in easy walking distance and a trail that connect you to the east side of the city. "

"NoMa Bid has been creating a huge sense of community in Eckington and NoMa. For one they keep the area so clean and you always see their workers sweeping the sidewalks, changing trashing, maintenance at the dog park. And then there’s the events, most at the A.T. Park and the MBTrail. Movie in the park, farmers market, holiday events like pumpkin patch/contest, and of course the mural walls festival. The trail and park have beautiful murals everywhere and each year local artist renew most of them. (NoMa in Color). Also the dog parks is a big vibe in the area, Eckington Dog Park is the best in the city, but there are 4 in the area. Also, Bouldering Project is a cool bouldering and fitness gym. Theres tons of grocery, restaurants, bars and beer gardens, etc. it’s surround by Union Market, Brookland, Shaw, H Street… all connect my the MBT (bike/walk trail) and NoMa/Gallaudet Metro Station (subway). "20 minutes to town, one can go through downtown 25 mph or there are other roads through the countryside that have no lights and higher speed limits to get to the other end of town. 30 min to Carson City. One hour to Reno"
