9/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis school used to be THE school in the Gulf Breeze area. However, a change in administration has lead to the decline of the school. If you are new to the area, people will tell you "Gulf Breeze has the number one school in the state". False. They are the top in the county. GBE is currently ranked at 137 statewide. Still not bad, but its far from the best there is. OBE is actually ranked higher, and is where I would send my kids. It is a much warmer, friendlier place. Just do your own research in regards to which school is best for you kids.Parent Review5y ago - Gulf Breeze Middle School

9/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageCons: This school is not for someone looking for any "easy out" of the traditional brick and mortar school. The coursework is very time consuming. Many typical daily assignments in the virtual school would be broken down and completed as multiple assignments over weeks at a traditional school. The virtual school also expects the student to have a firm handle on all basic computer programs; including Powerpoint presentations, Excel, Word processing, emailing, submitting audio files, digital files, etc. For someone just starting out, the time it takes to learn the programs and processes of submitting work via the internet has to be accounted for. This is my son's first year at the school and he has learned both subject material and computing skills. Pros: The system keeps parents aware of what is going on with the student and in a very timely manner. All teachers are quick to respond, and test & assignments are graded and recorded within hours (sometimes minutes) of submittal. - The curriculum is engaging and thorough. - Classwork is extremely portable and accessible at anytime.Parent Review10y ago - Santa Rosa Online Virtual Instruction Program

"I can usually avoid hwy 98 by cutting through the neighborhood back roads. It may take a little longer but it’s worth it to avoid the traffic. "

"Gulf Breeze schools are some of the best in the state of Florida. Gulf Breeze, for the most part, is a very affluent area and has an extremely low crime rate. The beaches in this area are some of the most beautiful in the state, in my opinion. The only drawbacks to living here are the threat of hurricanes (this is a very hurricane-prone area) and the high insurance rates that result. Also, Pensacola Beach has become quite the tourist trap and beach traffic is heavy in the Spring & Summer. "

"We get spoiled living in paradise. Sometimes we complain about our “commutes” but I’ve never had to drive more than 30 minutes to go to work. Traffic on the main thoroughfares can seem busy but relative to any modern major city, the highways here are quaint. "

"The kids in the neighborhood are a 50/50 split teens 13-19 and 3-12 yr olds. I have never seen a baby person in here. 👶 All the kids here are polite and friendly and from a single parent home. On the weekends and during a school holiday most if not all the 10 year and younger are outside playing, riding bikes and are fun to watch as all appears happy. These young one are not sitting inside working an Xbox or Playstation. Amen "
