3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageAfter the pandemic, students struggled to adapt to being in the classroom full time. While the teachers are excellent, there is many behavioral problems with students in the classroom and in the hallways. Bullying is almost a daily occurrence for some children. There are around 25-32 students in each classroom. This leads to less help from the teacher(s) giving the lesson.Other Review1y ago - Dover High School

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageSo, first of let me say that I’m not the best student when it comes to school, and other people’s experiences are their own. Personally though, I loved this school. My grades were below average and my social skills weren’t all that good. But while I couldn’t attend school due to my declining mental health, my counselor Ms Philips did not judge me and really got me back on track. Even let me attend important memorable senior events with my poor grades. [I was working hard towards success at the time though and eventually did graduate on time earlier this year. :)] I’ll just say that personally I feel as if this school is mostly a judge free zone, lots of diversity and just students doing their own thing! (It may be a few troublesome moments where fights would break out and it’s just because kids have their own problems socially, but staff break it apart fast and even saw a counselor calm a girl down in her office and console her. I happened to be in the back doing make-up school work when that happened.) So staff are nice and the teachers were understanding about my situations at home. Although I kept getting attendance letters because of my mental health, they gave me chance after chance and I’m grateful for that. I’m still sorry I wasn’t the best student--It was a me thing, I’m just so grateful that the teachers really helped me get to where I needed to be despite my problems. Thank you D highOther Review5mo ago - Booker T. Washington Elementary School

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis school is very diverse which I think is a good thing. There is rigor in the classrooms and teachers work with the families to support the students. They have fun activities for families such as movie night, math night, back to school carnivals. I believe out of the all of the elementary schools in Capital, this is the best one. If you are unsure about sending your children here, I would call and ask for a tour. Try it!Parent Review2y ago - William Henry Middle School

"Very violent community and is not pet friendly . No one owns a pet in the apartment complex so it would likely be an bad option for a pet owner ! "

"It’s very easy to get in and out of the neighborhood. White Oak rd can be busy closer to 13 but this far back is great. Very close to Route 1 and lots of back road to drive to clear your mind when needed. Also still close to shopping, main road and highways, and Dover AFB."

"Dover is a city just like any other good and bad areas. Though small still homey feeling. I prefer more out west of Dover more of a rural feeling"

"I’m indifferent about Dover. I’m conflicted about how I feel about this city. The crime has increased just like most densely populated areas. There are positive aspects but they don’t outweigh the negative. "

"Love it, neighborhood is friendly and full of children. Many dog walkers and I hardly ever have a owner leave poop on my lawn. I haven’t witnessed crime. I do see people walking along the streets but I think it’s due to public transit being near by overall great place "

"I lived in the neighborhood almost 3 years and it is very quiet. Be wary, they over charge for apartments in the spring and summer. I started payimg 975 a month for a 1 bed 1 bath in summer, come February they were offering 1 beds for 700-800. I am now ony 3rd lease and am only paying under 1060 because i agreed to a 15 month lease. There are people staying in 2 & 3 bed room apartments for less than what i am paying. They also increase rent every year. Also, when they say a room has been renovated, that just means they updated it from 1950's appliances to 1970's appliances. There is nothing renovated about my apartment, though they claim it is. It looks just like one of those cheap hotels."
