10/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe best school in DC BY FAR! Every single one of the staff members are very engaged with all of the students. They recognize and know each and every student by name. They foster and nurturing loving environment to make all new students and current students feel welcomed and heard /seen. They operate that if a private school so there are so many programs and courses before and after school for the children. They are learning at such and accelerated rate that my 5 year old who has never been to school has already learned how to read in a matter of months. They teach social studies, math, reading, writing anything you can imagine you name it to their kindergarteners. Imagine what is being taught to the upper level grades. They do not miss a beat on informing parents and keeping us up to date with what goes on at school. They are very transparent and interactive and available whenever you need them. There’s just so much good to say about this school I’m absolutely in love with the environment. I’ve seen nothing but kindness from all students. No bullying everyone is very supportive of one another which I love! Another great thing is that students who are struggling a little in a subject are taken out of class and into McAllen groups to help keep them ahead with their peers in whichever lesson they might be needing xtra work on instead of not caring and letting them fall behind.Parent Review1mo ago - Check out schools near 4343 Harrison St NW #1.

"A high-end town in NW DC, Cathedral Heights offers mini shopping areas and restaurants, the wonderful youth of American University, and of course, the National Cathedral. Smaller churches lie blocks from eachother, scattered throughout the neighborhoods. The people are friendly and children are seen everywhere. There is plenty of foliage, where woodland creatures can be seen scurrying or prancing. For the most part this area can sustain itself, with smaller commerce, businesses, even [Homeland Security], all in its vicinity. I see no reason to leave. "

"American University Park (aka Tenleytown) is one of the loveliest neighborhoods in Washington, DC. It is a quiet, leafy, family-oriented community near excellent transportation and restaurants. Lots tend to be large and well-tended. For all these reasons, homes tend to sell very fast."

"This area is walking distance to the metro and wonderful Wisconsin area shopping and restaurants. Friendly people and on street parking always available.Georgetown and downtown D.C. close by also."

"After living in a rural area, I came back to DC to live with and help my elderly parent. I thought I would hate DC and this neighborhood for all the typical reasons, like it's crowded, dirty, polluted, noisy. I found, surprisingly, that I love living here and this particular building is fantastic. The neighborhood is safe, has great schools, it's walking distance to shops, nightlife, AU and Metrorail, or you can take a bus, the traffic moves well (except at the height of rush hour), it's very clean, there's parking on the street and around this building, there's a park down the street and you can hike all the way to the Potomac, it's not far from the museums and Kennedy Center (I've ridden a bike and taken Metro), it's almost in Georgetown but without the high prices, smallish dogs are allowed, it's close to the C&O Canal and Capital Crescent Trail----well, this is as good as city living gets. I thought I would be pining for my former rural life but no---this is a great building in an excellent and affordable building, in a super city."
