7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI really wanted to love this school. My daughter started here last year. I must say that my experiences here have been very uncomfortable. This is not a friendly environment ( for some families). The staff are rude, aloof, and un-inviting. Including the principal. I do feel as though this school favors certain families in their community. However, it is not a school wide approach. I honestly feel that the behavior of some staff is intentional. I get some of the dirtiest looks I’ve ever gotten. I feel like it’s an act of retaliation, due to a complaint I made last year about the school.Parent Review4mo ago - Eastern High School

2/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI'm glad we chose Eastern for our students. My one and only complaint is that they offer only 1 world language. Other than that, they are academically challenging and offer an amazing array of extras, like debate, a medical sci academy, all the sports, jrotc, on and on. And the full IB program! And I would just like to say that this school is a excellent school if your want your child to do great things. I wouldn’t listen to the great school rating because in the class of 2022. They had a bunch of child’s going to Benjamin Banneker which is the best school in DC ,School Without Walls second best school in DC, and McKinley Technology High School third best school in DC. Me being one of the students who attend McKinley Technology. All of the Teachers care about the students well being and there education. I had a teacher who I felt like I could always talk to. No one who attends Stuart-Hobson will feel alone you will always have a friend or two.Parent Review1y ago

"Stadium is the last Metro stop before orange blue silver lines split apart and go in different directions. This means if you are commuting from Downtown DC is easy, you can jump on any Blue/Orange/Silver train headed East. If you live further out then you need to wait to get on the right blue, silver or orange train and getting home could possibly take much, much longer."

"The Harris Teeter grocery near Penn and Potomac has closed, but the new Safeway at 14th and D St. SE and Trader Joe's at Eastern Market are awesome"

"I work from home. If commuting to Virginia from this neighborhood it would be pretty bad. Within DC and using public transit one would probably have an easy to normal DC commute."

"Capitol Hill East is an upcoming neighborhood. It has excellent police presence, a bagel bakery, new bars, Harris Teeter, and a charming old school feel about it. Honestly, I don't want to live anywhere else. "
