7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageDaughters attended for K - 5. Priniciple Roberta McAloon is the best. She runs a tight ship and knows what she wants from her staff. One was in their 'special needs' program. The program was fine, however, there are currently 2 lead teachers in this program, each with differnt, but effective styles. We needed to have our daughter work with both to determine which teachers style challenged our daughter to her best potential. Hatton is also home for town wide 'special needs' pre-schoo. Classrooms have split poplation of special and non-special students. It's a great environment of the special students, however, the non-specials may not be challenged to their potential.Parent Review12y ago - Joseph A. Depaolo Middle School

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageOverall a great school! No real complaints, some of the teachers are cranky, and some of them are really fun! They welcome 6th graders wonderfully with a meeting with current 6th graders. They are constantly helping children with school work and will never let anyone fall behind. The vice-principal and principal are really friendly as well.Student Review1y ago - Southington High School

"I have a dog and I feel safe walking her around. There is a dog park walking distance on the trail. I have not seen any dogs not on a leash and I believe that it’s safe to walk with or without a dog. "

"Southington is a great place to grow up and raise a family no matter what stage you’re at. It’s a very accessible town and lots of privacy while still getting plenty of options of stores you can get to quickly and easily. I’d recommend parents always watch their children anywhere because the world is nuts everywhere but I’ve never felt unsafe or anything negative about living here. Again….
