"There are two great parks. Both have pools and one has a huge play area for the kids. Most of my neighbors feel comfortable letting their kids ride/walk around the neighborhood with limited supervision."

"We have lived here for 33 years. In our immediate vicinity, our yards are large and there are few houses mixed with small commercial entities (gas station, coffee shop, hair salon, restaurant, small grocery). Our next-door neighbor has lived here for over 60 years. Well-established area. Neighbors don’t socialize with each other, but speak and exchange greetings. The size of the properties gives privacy, and interacting with the town is up to the individual, and at different levels. One neighbor is active in scouting. When our son went through the school system, that brought us more into school activities. There are few kids in the vicinity, That has been true through out time here. Properties are kept up. It’s a quiet place to live. There’s a lot of traffic on Hartford Ave, but the houses are sheltered by trees and set back on the property."

"The commute to downtown Hartford is very easy via the Berlin Turnpike. A car is a must have here in the suburbs, although the state is trying to have more busses come through Newington, which can help with the trip into Hartford. Traffic to/from Newington sometimes builds up, but is normally always moving and doesn’t take more than a half hour into Hartford."
