3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe staff at Fair Haven School truly care about their students. I've noticed many of the reviews on this page are outdated. Since the posts from years ago, Fair Haven School has gained new administration and new teachers who have come in and really changed the climate of the building. Many students who come to this school are far below grade level. Teachers work hard to make sure that the growth being made by each of their students in more than a year's worth (in an attempt to get them closer to their grade level benchmarks). Teachers have put together committees and use strategies to better connect with parents and people in the community. There will always be some outliers of students who have a difficult time during the school day, but overall students are respectful and teachers work hard to connect with them. There is only so much that you can learn about a building from the statistics and test score data. It is important to look at the make up of a building in order to truly understand how much effort and love a staff is putting into their job.Other Review4y ago - Wilbur Cross High School

1/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageNot a good school if you have a child whom is disabled with little speech at my sons PPT they exited him out of speech and physical therapy and he is not in an inclusion class room with an aide with his other peers he is high functioning being labeled as interlecialy disabled and is in a class room with mostly non functioning disabled kids my son is entitled to these services and as a parent I am very disappointed and will be fighting for my sons rightsParent Review7y ago - Check out schools near 164 Grafton St.

"Nothing I felt/ feel safe going to. Violence has risen here in the last couple of years. I would never let my children outside to play without supervision. This area used to be "Grand" many years ago, but in ensuing years has really gone downhill. It's actually sad. School system isn't as good as touted either. "

"A lot of good people here and they are always looking out for each other in the neighborhood. Also there are several community groups that have programs for children. And diverse schools with a focus on higher education. Would definitely recommend the area for families."

"It’s dangerous everywhere in new haven except downtown. You can’t avoid that anywhere though. But it has some great qualities. Shopping plazas just about anywhere, restaurants open til midnight, and loads of activities to do. There are about four libraries in new Haven alone, and museums in the heart of down town. "

"Way too many dirt bikers riding around causing havoc, unregistered cars everywhere. plus neighbors sit around on the front porch all day doing nothing. Loud music played by inconsiderate people around the neighborhood. Can’t wait till I move out of here "
