1/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI just saw a review where someone from the class of 2002 was told by their school counselor to drop out...it's so crazy coz I was in the class of 1992 and was told in 1991 (age16) by my counselor to drop out as well and he wouldn't let me continue in regular school. So i dipped out and got my GEDOther Review10mo ago - Slade Middle School

I feel like when my son graduated he was smarter and was safer then he was at any other new Britain school like diloreto or PulaskiParent Review1y ago - Vance Elementary School

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI love this school. My kids were below grade level when enrolled here at Vance, an by the end of the school year, they made a tremendous chenge, their learning went up an are more interested in learning, at the end of the school year on their last day I though they would be happy to go on vacation instead they came home crying because school was over. I'm very pleased with this school.Parent Review6y ago - House Of Arts Letters And Science (Hals) Academy

10/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageExcellent! This is coming from a parent’s perspective. My daughter works very hard, teachers are great, has many friends, and she does her 4 to 6 hours of homework every night! She earns all As! I am happy with this school and that the school only has 152 students from 6-8th grade. Small classes gives teachers; more one on one time with a student; if need be! She is already ready for high school in the 7th grade. I am happy to say; she will be so advanced academically when starting high school!Parent Review4y ago - Check out schools near 172 Columbia St.

"Don’t let your kids go out alone unsupervised. Make sure that they become very familiar with their surroundings. People drive like maniacs in New Britain, worse than Mass drivers. Also pedestrians think they have the right of way and often just walk out into traffic. Make sure your kids know how to cross the streets (crosswalks) they will live longer. "

"I grew up here and it's definitely not the same as back in the days as far as living. taxes are outrageous and schools have declined. I don't feel to safe even though we have new staff of police and a brand new billion dollar police station. it's modern day gentrification but with crime all around. "
