10/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWe moved our teen from a highly rated private school because we’d heard terrific things about GMHS. Small classes, great teachers, coordinated multidisciplinary curriculum sports and extracurricular activities, AP and honors classes available in nearly every subject. The school is run well by a committed staff, and is quite large for a small suburb. Two gyms, separate practice and instructional rooms for band and chorus, large updated cafeteria that’s being expanded and upgraded, beautiful large library, many sports fields, great running track, set back with large surrounding fields and woods. School is a bit large to navigate class to class but our teen figured it out quickly. It’s also nice that the school offers digital design, robotics classes (and club), as well as a full complement of arts classes. Disability services are excellent and well-coordinated. A structured study hall is offered and pleasantly small, offering one-to-one customized coaching. Our kids are enjoying the community and taking advantage of the many opportunities. We can’t speak much about college counseling except for the programs that start freshman year. We’re very pleased thus far. The collective school community has been much more than we could have ever expected. One of our teens receives support for several learning disabilities, and in a short time, has progressed with the support they received. We’ve been able to dial down parts of their support and coaching while still keeping services available as needed. During COVID, our teen needed more support transitioning back to in-person learning, and the school quickly stepped up. Our teen is now taking multiple AP courses, as well as honors classes, and is independently, proactively managing their challenging course load with a small bit of support in organizational skills through disability services (checking in weekly, assessing their progress, following up with teachers, and coordinating other support services). GMHS sees each student in a holistic way, and it’s been apparent since our first shadow day there. Great school! We can’t say enoughParent Review1y ago - Kelly Lane Primary School

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageKelly Lane is a wonderful school and if you are a parent who is aware of and on top of the current educational model then you can work with the school to see that you child gets all the help he or she needs to succeed.Parent Review10y ago - Granby Memorial Middle School

7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageStudents with mental health issues aren’t really helped, and students are taught much about mental health issues, which is very important. Students will yell, be loud, and teachers in some classes might not care, also homework is rarely given which is horrible for learning, math learning is horrible too. Horrible lunches too my child comes home hungry because of its horrible there. Students who are introverted normally develop mental health issues and no attention is brought on that, and the dress codes are unfair, spaghetti straps are just showing shoulders, stop sexualizing a child’s shoulders, the breast’s and bottom should be covered and a cropped top shouldn’t be too cropped, it’s a child and if there parents are okay with it then deal with it. I honestly think this school is pretty bad.Student Review2y ago - Wells Road Intermediate School

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis school is cutting-edge- students are well educated in areas (science, technology, foreign language) that other districts do not focus on due to testing pressures. A small student body enables teachers to really focus on building community and character development. This is a phenomenal school!Other Review10y ago - Check out schools near 501 Salmon Brook St.
