7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe school is very conscious of safety coming in and out of the building which was a relief for me. There were teachers that each of my children gravitated toward, which was helpful for looking to their futures. The English and Shop departments were fantastic. Overall, I was very happy with the choices my kids had for academics.Parent Review2mo ago - Mountain View Elementary School

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageAs a parent of a child diagnosed with ADHD, navigating the educational system can be challenging. Unfortunately, my experience with Mountain View Elementary has been one of frustration and disappointment due to their inadequate support and communication regarding my son's needs. From the outset, it was made clear to Mountain View Elementary that my son has ADHD. During the initial meeting, we discussed strategies and accommodations to help him succeed academically and socially. However, despite these discussions, there has been a glaring lack of follow-through on the school's part. One of the most concerning issues has been the complete absence of communication about next steps. We were assured that the school would work with us to implement the agreed-upon accommodations, but there has been no proactive effort on their part to do so. Instead, we have been left in the dark, unsure of what steps, if any, are being taken to support our son. Furthermore, the situation escalated when Mountain View Elementary suspended my son immediately following our 504 plan meeting. This action not only undermined the purpose of the meeting but also demonstrated a disregard for his individual needs and challenges. Despite our efforts to address these concerns with Mountain View Elementary's administration, we have been met with defensiveness and attempts to shift blame onto us as parents. Rather than taking responsibility for their failure to adhere to the agreed-upon plan, the school has continued to push us aside and neglect our son's needs. Adding insult to injury, the school even attempted to throw my son's absences in my face, despite the fact that I am working two jobs and recently had to move his dad out of state. This lack of empathy and understanding only exacerbates the already challenging situation we are facing. This lack of accountability, communication, and empathy is not only disappointing but also deeply concerning for my son's well-being and academic progress. Children with ADHD require additional support and understanding to thrive in a school environment, and it is disheartening to see Mountain View Elementary fall short in providing that support.Parent Review3w ago - Check out schools near 4907 Wilderness Pl.
