Rock House Ranch is in the southwest Corner of Colorado close to the rural community of Cahone, Colorado. Cortez is 25 miles to the south, providing amenities of shopping, restaurants, hospital, and a regional airport. This part of Colorado is known for its vast Native American history. On the higher end of successful mule deer hunts in Colorado, Unit 72 boasts a certain exclusivity since the percentage of public land available for hunting is less than 30 percent. Mule deer tags are reserved for buck hunting only and are valid for Units 72 and 73. Nestled in the southwestern corner of Colorado, bounded on the west by the Utah border and on the south by the New Mexico border, Unit 72 is a hunting destination that can be taken on by any hunter. Being that the physical demands of this unit are not the most extreme, Unit 72 provides an enjoyable hunting experience for those that may not be able to maneuver the rugged areas. However, the unit does have its more challenging areas for those that are seeking out that kind of hunt. Public land hunting is limited to the Canyon of the Ancients National Monument, which is in the northern half of the unit. The Southern Ute Indian Reservation comprises the majority of the southern portion of the unit and prohibits hunting. The ranch is surrounded by many different types of activities and agriculture. To the north is Dove Creek, Colorado known as “one of the pinto bean capitals of the world”. Further to the west is Utah, with Canyonlands National Park. To the south of the ranch are many archaeological sites to explore, with the most famous being Mesa Verde National Park. With the central location to many activities and hunting, put this ranch on your must-see list.

"The area is great friendly neighborhood one block from grade school and high school. Just two blocks from the park. It is a wonderful place to raise kids or just kick back. Plenty of room for gardens also has hookups for another home or trailer."
