Description
This property is no longer available to rent or to buy. This description is from May 09, 2023
Classic brick bungalow just around the corner from Denver's beloved Washington Park. Sited high on its 6,350 sq ft lot, the full front porch is where you'll want to relax and watch the world go by. Planted and maintained by a master gardener, the front and back gardens containing thousands of dollars of plant material are a delight. A cool pond with lilies and goldfish provides ambience and the lush landscaping affords privacy. Inside, the Craftsman style has been meticulously maintained and includes original architectural details including gorgeous oak woodwork, gleaming oak floors, built-ins, and glass door knobs. The dining room is separated from the living room by oak trimmed half walls. The living room overlooks the front porch and features a gas fireplace flanked by built-in, glass front shelving. French doors open to a 3rd bedroom which could also work well as a home office. There are two additional bedrooms on this level and a modern full bath. The spacious kitchen has been updated over the years and offers ample, crisp white cabinetry, white appliances, and a breakfast nook with built-in seating. An automatic exterior shade at the kitchen window helps keep this sun-filled space cool. The full finished basement doubles this home's living space. A spacious family room has both egress and a closet. So, this space could function as a forth bedroom if needed or split to provide two perfectly sized rooms. A luxurious 5-piece bath includes a soaking tub and rather large closet plus a built-in dresser. The laundry room and a large storage room plus an old canning room (convert to wine cellar!) round out this level. The long driveway to the 2 car detached garage offers ample off-street parking and additional storage. In addition to its proximity to the park, this location is just minutes to Cherry Creek, Downtown, I-25 & Light Rail; stay closer to home and enjoy one of the many neighborhood shops & restaurants or simply picnic in the park. What are you waiting for?

7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWe decided to move here after our homeschool, which is a half a block away has 85% of the kids bussed in which has resulted in bullying on the girl side.Merrill seems to be a great fit. Our daughter has made some great friends, seems to be thriving in school.Parents are involved. Those who complain are probably not involved.Of course, there are always some issues with teachers. One or two that don’t seem to want to be there. School leadership seems to be top notch and headed in the right direction. Our daughter’s education is thriving. For the reviewer who had a weird comment about the food? Who cares how you cut the pizza if you don’t like the food, pack their lunch. Just be happy that they are serving lunch to the kids.Like any middle school, my daughter has noticed smoking. But we taught her stay away from those kidsParent Review1y ago - South High School

9/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWe have been at Steele for 8 years and can attest to both the positive and negative reviews here. First hand experience, I think they are both 100% accurate and it really highlights the good and bad aspects. Academics are above average for DPS and students are well prepared to handle middle school with critical thinking skills. The PTA does an amazing job raising money to supplement the lack of DPS funding for Art, Music, PE and the recently reduced Drama programs (also surprisingly- the special Ed gets an exceptional amount of funding compared to the % of overall SPED students, so note the 5 stars there). The neighborhood demographics allow them to raise a substantial amount of money compared to other DPS schools. The community aspect can be great, likely something for everyone. The parents are probably the same at many other schools with similar demographics – a lot of SAHM with lots of time on their hands, helicopter parents, career-oriented parents etc. Lots of gossips both in and out of school (because many mothers work/volunteer so many hours at the school). I will agree with the criticisms of the principal. She really lacks the ability to communicate and handle tough situations dealing with anything from violence to racism, which are serious issues and is really disappointing. There has definitely been a lot of turnover with teachers in the last few years. I heard that is attributable to many aspects including pay, principal, and feeling heard/valued. Others have been there forever, and of the ones I've had the pleasure of knowing are amazing.Parent Review3mo ago - Check out schools near 542 S Corona Street.

"No one picks up after their dog. It’s rather annoying. But the park is a good place to take the pup on walks! Although be careful because some folks don’t keep their dog on the leash. "

"Too much dog traffic. Personally don’t like when dogs walking by pee on my lawn. Overall not a big deal. I have dogs too. Love that it is a dog community. "
