Description
This property is no longer available to rent or to buy. This description is from December 03, 2022
Spectacular property on one of West Washington Park's most coveted blocks. Located just around the corner from the park you are close enough to see it from the back windows and a just a quick stroll to the lake, tennis courts, children's playground and all that Denver's crown-jewel park has to offer but without the traffic outside your door. This side of Corona is elevated above the street so all west facing windows look out to the trees and not cars. The cozy front yard and porch is a pleasant place to hang out and chat with neighbors as they stroll by. Step inside the front door and to your left is a flexible space presently used as the dining room. A small hallway leads to a half bath, coat closet and built-in mini bar area. Step into the great room with kitchen that features Dacor stainless appliances, a built-in refrigeration and six-burner cooktop. The kitchen has granite countertops and island with bar seating. The kitchen overlooks the living room with it's see-through fireplace that is shared with the back patio accessed through glass doors. The private patio and yard is a wonderful place to dine or entertain on summer evenings. Upstairs there are two master suites both with en-suite full baths. The primary master has a large walk-in closet, jetted tub and see-through fireplace. Walnut wood-flooring was added to the entire second level in 2017 to match the main floor. The third floor is a wonderful space surrounded by windows that look out to the mountains to the west or the park and lake to the east. There is a large wrap-around deck for relaxing and watching those amazing Colorado sunsets. The basement has a fourth bedroom, full bath and large family room with wet bar. All new carpeting and many additional updates in 2017. Wonderfully maintained. Little to do but make it your own.

7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWe decided to move here after our homeschool, which is a half a block away has 85% of the kids bussed in which has resulted in bullying on the girl side.Merrill seems to be a great fit. Our daughter has made some great friends, seems to be thriving in school.Parents are involved. Those who complain are probably not involved.Of course, there are always some issues with teachers. One or two that don’t seem to want to be there. School leadership seems to be top notch and headed in the right direction. Our daughter’s education is thriving. For the reviewer who had a weird comment about the food? Who cares how you cut the pizza if you don’t like the food, pack their lunch. Just be happy that they are serving lunch to the kids.Like any middle school, my daughter has noticed smoking. But we taught her stay away from those kidsParent Review1y ago - South High School

9/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWe have been at Steele for 8 years and can attest to both the positive and negative reviews here. First hand experience, I think they are both 100% accurate and it really highlights the good and bad aspects. Academics are above average for DPS and students are well prepared to handle middle school with critical thinking skills. The PTA does an amazing job raising money to supplement the lack of DPS funding for Art, Music, PE and the recently reduced Drama programs (also surprisingly- the special Ed gets an exceptional amount of funding compared to the % of overall SPED students, so note the 5 stars there). The neighborhood demographics allow them to raise a substantial amount of money compared to other DPS schools. The community aspect can be great, likely something for everyone. The parents are probably the same at many other schools with similar demographics – a lot of SAHM with lots of time on their hands, helicopter parents, career-oriented parents etc. Lots of gossips both in and out of school (because many mothers work/volunteer so many hours at the school). I will agree with the criticisms of the principal. She really lacks the ability to communicate and handle tough situations dealing with anything from violence to racism, which are serious issues and is really disappointing. There has definitely been a lot of turnover with teachers in the last few years. I heard that is attributable to many aspects including pay, principal, and feeling heard/valued. Others have been there forever, and of the ones I've had the pleasure of knowing are amazing.Parent Review3mo ago - Check out schools near 1050 S Corona Street.

"No one picks up after their dog. It’s rather annoying. But the park is a good place to take the pup on walks! Although be careful because some folks don’t keep their dog on the leash. "

"Too much dog traffic. Personally don’t like when dogs walking by pee on my lawn. Overall not a big deal. I have dogs too. Love that it is a dog community. "
