The Science department, specifically the elective courses, are taught by some of the most knowledgable and motivated teachers this side of the Mississippi. 5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy son loves attending Holmes and the staff support his learning needs. He is involved in extracurricular activities and we are invited to many events as a family. Holmes invites families to collaborate with their child’s learning. The students are engaged in productive learning and I see far less behavioral issues than in previous years. As any middle school, some kids will be making better choices than others, but I am glad that school leadership faces any challenges head-on, rather than ignoring them. They have a great music program and athletics department. There is also a robust offering of clubs. School leaders, Principal Karr and Asst. "I was born as raised in West Colorado Springs. I moved,Many years ago I find myself missing and thinking about my hometown often. I wish it was easy just to pick up and move back but I don’t have it like that. Colorado is amazing and beautiful. West side is the best side baby!!"

"Most neighbors pick up after their dogs but there are a few that do not. And they allow their dogs to poop in every ones yard without regard for that neigjbor"

"Colorado Springs is a good place to live. Granted it has changed quite a bit over the years it's still home to me. It's always been such a beautiful place to live and the people are nice as well (for the most part at least). It has been a blessing to 6⁶ grown up here and having had the opportunity to branch out and travel to many other places, I can honestly say that it is indeed a cut above the rest. I always find my way back home. and in this case home is certainly where the heart is. Ya. That's the perfect way to describe it. Colorado Springs has heart and a lot of it and it will definitely always have mine."

"It is a peaceful and safe neighborhood. The neighbors are all very kind and willing to lend a hand if need be. There is a neighborhood pool, within walking distance to many homes. Everyday is filled with bikers taking advantage of the beautiful Garden of the Gods, the laughter of children and the amazing scenery that the West side has a front row seat to. Our community is also very diverse, with people from all walks of life. It is not like living in a bubble, but instead like living outside the bubble where each new day gives you the opportunity to grow socially and personally. I would not want to live anywhere else. "

"I Work from home so zero commute time. When I do errands, the traffic is reasonable but seems to be increasing. Love the area and new bike paths to access the city. "

"Lots of dog friendly people and parks... A lot of parks supply clean up bags for your responsibility which makes it nice if you forget your bags. Most friendly dog area I've ever been too even stores don't mind. "

"Clean, Happy Street. This One stands out for outstanding construction. Low Utility Bills! No HOA, Views beyond belief. Low Traffic. Two decks, both are shaded in the summer while still offering views of both Pikes Peak and Garden of the Gods. Situated on 3 lots which offers near total privacy."

"I love this area. Where else can you take one hop and skip into Garden of the Gods, drive through a liquor store and walk your dog through a heard of deer? The neighbors all wave. There is a certain kind of magic to this part of town. Great schools!"
