Unfortunately all the other schools are filled to the rim and if you moved in the area recently there are zero options.Evans is basically a school where you take your child if you know you should home school but you can't because of reasons beyond your control. We know our son isn't learning anything in there, but basically he needs to be in school in order to become a part of society, so I guess the learning will continue to happen from YouTube, books and the internet and Evans is mostly like a free baby sitter. Very sad but what can you do, Colorado Springs isn't going to just up and build a bunch of new schools... we'll see what middle school brings and if it's just as bad we might home school later on.Parent Review1y ago - Horizon Middle School

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageDistrict 49 and Horizon Middle School do not support children with disabilities. They are not given any allowances as required by law. I had my child attacked by security and staff requiring a urgent care visit even though my child was no immediate threat to anyone, and the school did not have a safety plan. 5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageSand Creek High School and District 49 does not support kids with disabilities and when they are too much trouble, they just remove them rather than dealing with their disabilities. My son was in Foster Care since he was 6 months old. He was abused, neglected, and moved to over 72 different foster care homes over his life. The school was informed of his disabilities and did nothing to accommodate him. "My neighborhood has wild life including bears, owls, hawks, bobcats, deer coyotes, rabbits and deer mice. Great if you love wild life but bad that they can take your small animals for a meal. Beautiful and terrifying at the same time. Quiet and neighbors get together once a year for BBQ. Less than 20 houses on this cul-de-sac and we aren't in an HOA."

"The Colorado Center properties are very affordable and this is a great place to live for families with kids, singles, couples and retirees. The Colorado Center properties are within 5-10 minutes of Peterson Air Force Base, Schriever Air Force Base, and Fort Carson. I highly recommend this area."
