5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis school is one of the worst schools in the state of Colorado. Firstly, bullying happens all the time, and although stuff is done about it, it still occurs because it is inevitable. Forms of bullying include: Harassment, Blackmail, and sometimes physical bullying. Secondly, the teachers are just awful. Teachers will just give you a worksheet and/or make you use an online program like IXL or Membean. No, most teachers do not actually teach. There was this one time, I was talking to a sub teacher, and she said, "don't talk back to me." Then I said, "That's how a conversation works". After that, I was sent to the office for a pretty arbitrary reason. The last thing about this topic is that some teachers give you a limited amount of bathroom passes. Some give 8 per quarter while some give 5 per semester. These teachers expect you to go to the bathroom in FOUR MINUTES. Thirdly, the tardy policy is strict. On the 1st tardy you will get a warning. On the 2nd tardy you will get parents contacted. On the 3rd tardy, you will get lunch detention. On the 4th and any subsequent tardies, admin will be aware. Fourthly, the school gives way to much homework. Some get 30 minutes of HW each night while some get 5 hours. Some homeworks are worth 60% of your whole grade. Fifthly, the school is ran like a prison. No phone, don't talk while teacher is talking, "the bell does not dismiss you, I do". Computers are monitored constantly. This is not any different from any BVSD school. Finally, the temperatures to bring students inside is -7C or 20F. If it's at or above that temperature, students will be forced to wait outside. To sum up everything I just said, bullying, teachers, homework, are some huge problems that exist within this "School".
