We have had 3 kids attend Boulder High (BHS). All three have done well. Our oldest went on to earn an accounting degree at CU followed by and MBA at the Univ.of Texas. The other two are still finishing up. BHS provides excellent schooling for those who are self-reliant students; each of our kids enrolled in several advanced and AP courses. Additionally, BHS offers strong theater, music, specialty club and sports opportunities galore with consistent themes of integrity and respect toward others. The other big high school in town, Fairview, is a bit more strident, but both are excellent. If they were in ancient Greece, I would liken Fairview to Sparta and Boulder to Athens.

it’s horrible. teachers are incentive and they pick on the kids or they side with certain students. They don’t try to help the kids be successful. they aren’t doing enough to stop kids bullying and picking and talking about people. You have to try to fit in or people won’t like , accept, or consider to be your friend or be nice to you. P It’s a miserable school environment. A kid came up to me when I was opening my locker and they were saying some stuff like why A were you talking bad about me and getting all up in my face and I didn’t even know who this person was.i never even talked to them C and now I’m wondering where are all the teachers when this happens to people and when you try to tell the counselor or the O principal they just tell you to ignore it or they ask you how you feel and they say ok your good to go then they send you back to class . villa . it hurts and I’ve gotten depressed from this school don’t ever let your kids to go here if you don’t want them to be hurt , miserable, stressed out by this out of sorts school

My three kids have had a great experience at Crest View. It's a great neighborhood school, with strong community and a diverse student body. We've had wonderful, experienced teachers and para professionals, many with decades of experience. They do a great job differentiating to meet the needs of a wide variety of students, with small groups targeted at closing gaps or adding additional challenge as appropriate. When my kids have struggled with some academic areas, the teachers partnered with us to develop a plan, utilizing the amazing literacy interventionist, occupational therapist and other intervention programs to get them back on track.Classroom teachers within a grade collaborate to meet the various needs in Math. My child was well prepared for advanced math in middle school.There are some great opportunities for experiential learning through things like Ameritowne, mock trials at the justice center, cardboard arcades, and the annual TinkerTown.They emphasize social-emotional growth with regular class lessons led by the school counselor, mindfulness exercises, etc. All students are screened for the gifted and talented program in 2nd grade, and eligible students have both social-emotional and academic goals.The school has many different languages, cultures, and socio-economic realities represented and the new principal works hard to ensure that all of their voices are heard. He has done proactive outreach to all segments of parents to include their views in the refreshed vision for the school. The school is not without its challenges. It is a public school with the larger class sizes that comes with that, and the diversity does add challenge for the teachers, as students enter the school with a wide range of academic backgrounds. In kinder in particular there may be students still learning English. However, we love that our kids are being exposed to this diversity in an otherwise rich, white town.Overall I'd highly recommend this school!
