6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageLawrence has been our home school for the last 6 years. Mr. Benisch is approachable and professional and really cares about how the kids are succeeding. The teachers are amazing and the kids are well behaved (mostly). I can't say enough about how much we love this school. I'm so glad I have a kinder and this can be our home for 6 more years!Parent Review7y ago - Manning Options School

7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis school supports all students and helps me as a student with special needs succeed. Many of the negative reviews are from when the school had a different principal. I have had bad experiences with some teachers but most are thoughtful and expect all students. Although this school has some dumb rules and high goals. I have found that they do a lot to help students succeed.Student Review6mo ago - Arvada High School

8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageUnfortunately All five of my siblings and I had the "opportunity" to go to D'Evelyn. However as many would assume/expect that we were lucky, it was the complete opposite experience. I would never recommend this school to anyone... it is actually HORRIBLE. 4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageIf you care about your child's education, then do not go to this school. No grades, no real guidance, no discipline, no structure and no motivation geared towards actual education. It does not hold kids accountable, does not teach responsibility and does not set kids up for success.Parent Review1mo ago - Jefferson County Open Secondary

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis school only works for a very small number of learners. The quality of teachers is really hit or miss. The ideology behind this learning environment is student lead learning. Unfortunately if you have anything other than an outstanding teacher the student is left to fail academically while shouldering the blame for not being self-directed. A few students thrive, unfortunately many are poorly prepared academically for life after high school. The administration is unwilling or unable to fully accept responsibility for the safety of their students during school hours. Drug use, alcohol consumption, and sex on campus does occur at this secondary school which shares a campus with K-6. Do not accept the hype that the community environment is so great that these students respect the rules. I was recently informed that 1/2 of the class in one of my students electives chooses to regularly not attend that class. No attendance is recorded and they are simply unaccounted for during this time. This did not seem problematic to the teacher at all. I'm unsure how this compares to other schools. I was surprised this type of behavior existed, since the number of students that are enrolled at JCOS is so low, and the advisers claim to be deeply invested. The administration's response is that the students are choosing to break the rules and it is not the schools philosophy to police them. There are very few extra curricular activities offered through the school. There is almost no focus on physical education. PE classes that do exist have almost entirely male enrollment. A holistic approach to education is not embraced here. The exceptional outcome that occasionally occurs at this school is promoted as the norm. Please be aware that it is not.Parent Review5y ago - Arvada K-8

3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageTeachers at this school take the time to know and understand the kids. This is a tough school BUT kids continue to learn and catch up. I understand the scores are low here, but as long as us parents partner with the teachers, we can help our kids have pride in their test scores AND their grades.Parent Review6y ago - Check out schools near 5437 Zephyr Ct #2.

What Locals Say about Historic Olde Town

"I enjoy the blocked off streets in Olde Town where you can grab a street beer and walk around to enjoy Live music, safely stay distanced and enjoy the day."
- Danielle M. N.

"Everyone is super friendly and it certainly feels like an unofficial rule that everyone has to have at least one dog in this neighborhood. Everyone is respectful and cleans up after their dog and there are lots of parks and trails!"

"if you're ok with walking half a mile from your car to your apartment, this place is perfect! when you move in, they don't tell you that there are twice as many cars as there are parking spots. don't bother paying for a parking pass because you'll probably end up in guest parking anyways (and even that is slim pickings). also, if you don't mind the sound of a train going off every 30 minutes right next to you, you'll love it here! the road next to building 7627 is constantly busy and the noise never stops. if you're lucky enough not to get neighbors with bass systems, you'll be fine :) and watch where you walk because no one picks up their dogs "leavings" around here. The property managers also can't seem to afford a bag of salt for the parking lot when it snows, so count on slipping around it all winter. 1 bed apartment is almost $1,500 a month - way overpriced for a BOX in the wall. utilities are not included in that price. the pool amd grill is a good half mile walk from the apartment too if you end up in the 7000s buidlings. oh, and you *have to* pay $35 a month for over the top "trash valet" service when you have to walk past the dumpsters to get to your car anyway. So, if you like the loud city life, dog leavings all over your shoes, ridiculous fees for services you never asked for and very bad parking and parking lot maintenence- this is the place for you!"

"I've lived in this neighborhood for 3 years and love it, the location is perfect, beautiful parks, convince of shopping/errands, ETC. But the landlord is a slumlord, our house is falling apart. it's sadly time for a change, but rent elsewhere is very expressive. It's a sad situation...."

"There's a park conveniently located near the middle of Olde Town, as well as lots of places to take your dog on a walk to. If your dogs are skittish of people, Olde Town might be too crowded."

"Traffic varies depending on which direction you come from. Wadsworth is usually backed up or slow, but if you approach from the west instead, you can get to Olde Town easily."

"Olde Town is great for families because it always has tons to do and see. However, there is also lots of traffic and parents need to keep a watchful eye on their kids when anywhere near the street."
