My grandchild entered Yucaipa HS this year, 2020-21 as a district transfer student because her parents were planning a move to Yucaipa area. Then covid hit. We thought that it was going to be terrible, but just the opposite occurred. The distance learning she has received has been almost flawless, the teacher involvement above what we could have hope for and the counselor and Special Education department the same. The work load was a little easier the first semester, the adjustment was hard on everyone. This second semester it is harder to get an A or B - but not impossible. Teachers teach clearly, the curriculum is explained clearly and if she had problems there was always one on one appointment after school for each need. When I hear people yelling about how their children are not getting a good education I can't say I can relate to that here. Hopefully they will all be in class and well next fall. 5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageAs a former student who is now a Freshman in High School, I can say this school was Great to go to besides a certain problem. A problem was my Family business was essentially invaded by Upper staff while being at this school from 1st-3rd grade, I came back once again in 5th grade and finished the rest of the school year better than before. I still remember a lot of Teachers and people I appreciate while being there. The Teachers are wonderful but once again the Upper staff is a bit harsh on families. I haven't had a safety problem at this school but some punishments are overextended at this school but it rarely happens. A problem is the lack of Support Staff. There is only one Support staff, so teachers usually have to due another job by being Emotional support as well. They could use 1 or 2 more support staff but otherwise, it seems this school has gotten better since I last went there.
