6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis school sadly needs a lot to fix, but my years here were okay. The music program here is incredible, and it is a great place to make friends. But the school has caught some students with drugs, and a lot of students who attend Douglass Middle School do drugs, vape, and do inappropriate stuff.Student Review4y ago - Ramon S. 5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageTafoya is an amazing school. The entire staff is friendly and the teachers go above and beyond their call of duty. My children love their school and all of the wonderful families here at Tafoya! Go Hawks!Parent Review6y ago - Pioneer High School

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe principal constantly talks bad about teachers. She even talks bad about teachers to the students. She told a student that the English teacher was bad and she won't be there next year. She yells and degrades everyone. Every year there are new teachers because of the lack of administrative support.Other Review4y ago - Check out schools near 1805 Sander St.

"I’m not sure. I do not live here. Just visiting family. Last time I lived here was 11 years ago. I guess fireworks at the high school on 4th of July. Christmas parade. Whole earth festival in Davis. Those were all fun for me growing up in woodland. "

"I-5 runs right through the town, 10 miles west of Sacramento Int’l Airport. It’s the last substantial town until Redding on I-5. Convenient to drive to Sacramento (20 minutes) with no traffic. 113 takes you straight to Davis (8 miles south) and I-80 to the SF Bay Area (70 miles west)"

"Just moved here I have worked here though. No idea what parents should know. Parts are friendly but not all parts. I am hoping my new neighbors are nice and will at least acknowledge my presence. I hate when people look the other way when I pass by them."

"Nice sidewalks and parks, but not many restaurants with outside seating that is dog friendly. Outside of the suburbs, such as close to 102, it's hard to walk dogs."

"Established older homes which are gorgeous! I love how many retirees are out gardening and walking around during the daytime. The younger families are more active after working hours but overall a quiet area which is safer than it can look depending on foot traffic. "

"We live here, and find it a mostly-pleasant neighborhood. Residents are quiet, and include elderly as well as families with children. On our end of the street there is an attractive senior complex which is an asset, because it is kept safe and clean. On the east side of West Street, there are some beautiful old homes, all in very good condition. My only complaint about this area is noise. Being just a couple blocks from the high school, we endure a lot of traffic on California Street and on West Street, particularly at the beginning and end of the school day. Also, we hear every event held outdoors at the high school, such as rallies, sports events, and graduations. This would be an ideal location for a family with kids and/or pets."
