  • Trulia User
"Definitely a dog friendly area! Visalia bumps right up to snow dusted mountains & the sequoia national forest. Nature prevails here with orchards everywhere, so fresh produce is always available! The city has a mandate that outlaws air signs (tall gas & fast food signs/billboards/etc), so nothing stands in the way of the natural beauty of the area. Low crime, but very high summer temps (as is expected in the inland valley). People are mostly kind & helpful, neighbors are friendly with each other. We love where we live!"

"Well, I have lived around the neighborhood for 12 years. Schools are what you as a parent involve yourself into your child's education want it to be; so school is okay maybe not the best as far as looks. Streets are a bit dark after hours but I blame the city for not giving this side of town ANY attention/same goes for traffic/bus stops. BUT NO ONE COMPLAINS... so there you go. PROS; shopping/eating/grocery stores/gas stations/schools are walking distance which is great. Predominately HISPANIC neighborhood--I come from a bigger city so...don't mind at all. Rent? $400-700 tops. overall I give it a 3 if it weren't for city not giving this side of town a facelift. "
