My sister went here for a year. The emotional trauma she went through from the students themselves and at the hands of the staff affected her for the rest of her middle school years. She is special needs and her teachers did absolutely nothing for her. They would give her packets printed off of Google and would never answer her questions or show her the lectures on subjects. Students would attempt to throw water on her hearing aids and staff never attempted to discipline them. Don’t bring your child here.

I am a black parent of a child who was attending Crenshaw H.S. This is an under performing school that needs to be shut down. The inner city need vouchers. They need to shut down this school for failing students in both math and English. People, we need to wake up...we are and should not be victims of our own government institutions!!!!!

I absolutely love this school. Test scores mean nothing if the teachers don't care about the students. The staff and teachers CARE so much about the students. This school is a 10 to me, my child thrived here and I am so thankful to the staff.

Since the pandemic, 42nd street has improved vastly! There’s a new principal who is approachable, engaged, and committed to improving learning outcomes. He has also created new opportunities for students to engage in STEM learning and financial literacy, and he has helped 42nd street to become part of the pathway to USC program. They offer a dual language program with outstanding new teachers, there’s a beautiful organic garden, and a parent center with incredible organizers. There is a real sense of community here, and we have been very pleased with our child’s experience as a 42nd st. Falcon!
