3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageTulare City School District has given me less faith and pride in my community than I would ever have imagined possible prior to having school-aged children. While asking teachers throughout the district what they can be sure of concerning Tulare City Schools, each one has stated that it is a game of politics. I have come to believe them. The district administrators seem to be driven by money and power. Teachers are overworked and resources scarce as a result. Higher salaries for teachers supplement sufficient working conditions, leaving my children to pay the ultimate price. How is this leveling the playing field? My children are losing out on an education which builds 'confidence' and 'creativity' because teachers feel they need to cut corners in order to get through the day. Education serves as the foundation and building blocks of the community. I'm not so sure what our community is building anymore.Parent Review9y ago - Los Tules Middle School

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis school suck .. a kid called out my son to fight via text messages and verbal either fight at school or his home and my son didn’t back down and when they were ABOUT to fight teachers were involved.. my son got 3 days suspension and the other kid who started all this got to go back to school .. the principle and vice principal are a joke they try to be buddy buddy with your kids for they can pump information out of them about other kids and get them in trouble … watch out this school is wanting to be run like jail …Parent Review1mo ago - Tulare Western High School

"This is a safe neighborhood but not a lot of kids out playing or a sense of community. People live fairly isolated"
- Jessicagrout
- Resident

"The amount of stray dogs is not only depressing, but dangerous since they are often large breeds. People drive through residential streets at ridiculous speeds. My particular neighborhood is unique because it’s a bunch of townhomes that all look the same."
- Jessicagrout
- Resident

"Gun shots. Weird people watching everything you do. People let their dogs run wild. A lot of stray, large breed dogs making it dangerous to walk outside. There are no good stores here. There’s not even a 7-11. You have to drive an hour to go to Trader Joe’s. Almost none of the homes here have pools. The only thing the city has going for it is one luxury movie theater, but they refuse to sell tickets on Fandango."
- Lisanvinny

"Everyone looks out for one another. A very respectful neighborhood. The houses are well kept, the lawns look great and kids play in each others yard. We all get a long fine."

"Area has modest homes on large lots and close to elementary, junior high, and high schools. Walk to downtown, gym, library, wal-mart and target, home depot and Lowe's. Even an movie theatre and outlet mall is close by."
