- Fillmore Elementary School
3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis school needs a lot of work in order for it to become a great school. The principal lacks leadership here. She shows no interest for students here nor will she communicate with parents properly like other principals in other schools. Some of the teachers here are not even organized or prepared when it comes to parent teacher conferences. They don't give out homework like other schools do. Another thing about this school is there campus security. Students are let out in the front of the school but a bit ways down not by the main entrance. When its time for students to go home the teacher just stands there and lets them go to their parents or to anyone who picks up a child. Anyone can come up to this school and snatch a child. I had to change my son to another school were i felt he was safe and were the principal actually cares about students and not a paycheck. I wouldnt be surprised if it gets shut down anytime soon.Parent Review10y ago

- John C. Fremont Elementary School
1/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageDo not take your child to this school, education is bad teachers do not care, the security is a joke and the staff is incompetent to say the least. BAD SCHOOL nothing but little wanna be gangbangers and bad little kids. On a scale of one to ten I'd rate this school a -8. If you value your kids and their education DO NOT TAKE YOUR CHILD TO FREMONT LOPEZ ! If you live in that area It is worth it for u and them to drive them to try for an inner district transfer using a relatives address and have them go to ANY OTHER SCHOOL BUT FREMONT LOPEZ waste of time and your child /children will not excel at anything but becoming ghetto! The teachers are like they're fresh out of grade school themselves they don't challenge the kids they more pacify them than anything. They don't care about issues even though they may say they do! Try dealing with their rude staff! It's ridiculous!! They act like they're too good or too high and mighty! Do yourself a favor and don't deal with this joke of a school! It would be better for everyone if they fired all the staff and tore that sorry excuse for a learning establishment down to the ground!Parent Review7y ago

- Roosevelt Elementary School
1/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating Averagethis school seems to get terrible every year. this new school year 2013-2014 for the 1st graders is going to be terrible since theres inky one class. yes 1 teacher and over 30 students.. really thinking of changing my son to another school.. i went to the office and ask was was going on and the responce was that since therent wasnt enough students the district took one of teh teachers to another school that really needs a teacher.. and that it might get worse it might happen later on with every single grade. so that makes me thing so what students in this school arent enought to be educated the same way like others in others school like please i remember when i was in school it would be no more than 24 or 26 per class. to me what they are doing is trying to save up a salary and mean while our kids struggle and i dislike the fact that parents compliant to each other but dont even do nothing about it.. and its sad because we are there parents and we want the best for our and any other children any where. very sad and dissapontedParent Review8y ago

- King Elementary School
3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy brothers and sister as well as myself have attended King School over the past 16 years! We have seen that year after year the staff has been more than involved with the children. They have great incentives for the children to continue to better their education. This is why I did everything possible to enroll my own kids now 10 and 8yrs old at King School. They have been honor roll students from day one. Something that did not happen when they attended a couple other schools nearby.Parent Review7y ago

- Edison High School
3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI am an Edison High alumni and two of my children currently attend. This place has not changed since I graduated in 1973. The teacher's don't care and the administrator's are even worse! Both my children are bright and articulate. They also dread Monday when they have to return to school. I am told everyday how they've completed their assignments and don't have anything to do. They have more subs then actual teachers! If it wasn't for the fact that they are both in their senior year I would have pulled them a long time ago. Principle Biederman is a joke, and IMHO is a bit of a racist. Because my son transferred from the bay he was immediately labeled a troublemaker, without just cause.Parent Review11y ago

"All the schools are within walking distance. Most of the stores and a few restaurants are within walking distance also. This is an older community, most lived most of their life here."
