  • Trulia User
"The roads are narrow with tight turns. People regularly speed especially to drop kids at the school, so it can be dangerous for walking. There do seem to be a good number of young families, but you rarely see them since the neighborhood is so hilly and winding. There’s very little diversity, but that can be said for Mill Valley as a whole. Overall the views can be great and it’s peaceful, but the community isn’t warm and fuzzy. "

"Love it here. We moved into the neighborhood a few months ago. Why am I still on Trulia? Doing some market research for work. I would say this is a fantastic family-oriented location. Unfortunately, inventory is super tight. Good luck in your search!"

  • Trulia User
"Mill Valley is a fabulous place to live - very cozy little town minutes from the Golden Gate bridge and all the city has to offer, but also easy access to all of Marin's charms, including the best aggregation of restaurants in the county, as well as the whole of the Golden Gate National Recreation Area. This town was rated one of the top 5 places to live and one of the best in terms of safety and overall lifestyle in the whole country, and it is indeed that. Shelter Ridge is well-maintained with great neighbors, and I highly recommend it."

  • Trulia User
"The neighbors are friendly and the views are great. this neighborhood is positioned in the middle of the Dipsea, Cypress, and Old Pipeline Trails, so running, hiking, and biking is just out your front door. In the center of the neighborhood there's a large permanent designated Open Space Park Area that used to be the Old Mill Valley Reservoir that people, kids, and dogs walk and play in. Their are only 12 houses on the private road, so there's not a lot of traffic and it's quiet and peaceful. Once a year there's an annual neighborhood block party at the end of Edgewood Ave. "

"I live and work in Mill Valley. I have lived in other areas of Marin (Larkspur and Corte Madera) but prefer Mill Valley for its proximity to the city, friendly community, great schools and restaurants. It has amazing access to the outdoors for hiking, biking surfing and kiteboarding."
