We are a low income, inner-city school with about 40% of our students being English Language Learners and 10% are students with special needs. Our scores reflect those challenges. What scores don't reflect is that our kids are loved. There are extraordinary teachers at Santa Ana High School. We put relationships first. Our kids know everyday that they are safe, they are cared for and they are loved. We send kids to Stanford, Harvard, UCLA, USC, Berkeley--every year, but we also work miracles with the kids that are struggling in every conceivable way to find their talent, believe in their worth and find a way to be successful--which doesn't always come from a four-year university for all kids.
