On the first day of kindergarten my daughter was scared and cried for 10 minutes before an adult approached her to help. I’ve had the school call me multiple times asking why she was absent after she was dropped off on time, so they clearly can’t keep track of their kids. Staff are rude and unresponsive, then send emails asking parents to buy them snacks. I was hounded for weeks to complete a volunteer application and then there’s been no follow up for months. PTA is a joke. They spend most of their time asking for money. Drop off and pick up is a nightmare. People park in the middle of the road, fire lanes, and everywhere else they shouldn’t park. 4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageSan Pedro, CA parents and students have no other Public Los Angeles middle School to attend. it is the ONLY school available for students out of 5th grades to attend.There are no other schools to compare against Richard Henry Dana Middle School for an education in a Middle School. This is a reason parents who cannot afford any other choices to send their children, are harassed, and ridiculed because of their LOW LOW incomes. There is no PUBLIC School Bus available to Students to Attend this school, and Students must utilize City of LA Bus system where many must walk long City Blocks to a Bus Route to Board any City Bus and must walk City of San Pedro neighborhoods to find and obtain other City Bus to return to their Parents homes.Those students with Parents that have above average incomes often drive their children to this School.Parent Review1y ago - Check out schools near 1027 W 11th St #7.
