My son is in first grade and his kindergarten teachers ms Elisa and Ms Kendall and Ms lopez are amazing the boys and girls club are amazing but his first grade teacher has spent two days messaging me trying to convince me that a song that all the students sing to each other was meant racially from my son due to him having lighter skin.which is crazy considering everyone on his dad's side is tongan and black. I feel that she is pushing her unconscious bias on my 6 year old child I had asked her repeatedly to stop making it a race thing I feel the principle listens to entertain u but really when it comes to taking action she does as only she sees fit with no consideration outside of her view thank God for Ms Erica in the front she is what holds that office afloat she treats everyone the se and her interaction with students has always surpassed those of her peers Can't wait to transfer

Both our kids have gone here since kindergarten. I am glad to see the GS rating increase and be more reflective of the excellent personal and academic learning our kids are experiencing. They both are excited to go to school and learn each day, genuinely like and enjoy their teachers, friends, and the overall school community. As parents we could not ask for better. The only thing we still hope for is more extracurriculars by the time our kids reach middle school, which NSM is working towards. We highly recommend our school!

To be very honest, this was probably the worst experience in my life. I’m a current college student looking back on my high school experience making this realization. The staff are very unsupportive, particularly the academic counselors. They see the students as numbers and can be a little racially biased. My counselor in particular constantly mixed me up with other students and overlooked my achievements simply because I was Asian. The teachers are very harsh and don’t provide enough support to each individual student. The students can be very comparative and toxic with one another, with constant rumors going around. It was common for people to run out of their classrooms crying while going on a bathroom break. The peer pressure for academics was too much and there were nearly zero mental health resources. Overall, my experience was a 2/5. If I were to repeat my high school experience I would choose San mateo high school. Aragon is a breeding ground for poor mental health.
