Description

Amazing 610 sq. ft unit with open floor plan available now for $3095 plus utilities. Utilities include heat, electricity, trash recycling, water, gym and security. This 17th floor unit is a city gem with phenomenal views and high ceiling clearances. Perched high in the Hamilton tower, "on a clear day, you can see forever". A literal San Francisco "treat" as your own nest in the sky. The Hamilton building is an architectural landmark and deco/moderne treasure. Enjoy spectacular southeast views of sunrise and the scenic city in this lovely corner unit. Windows are on all sides to let the sun shine in which translates to a more spacious and roomy feel. Weather is also great in this section of the city. There is a stunning sweeping 180 degree view encompassing the iconic Transamerica Tower to Bernal Heights. The building is largely owner occupied therefore professionally managed meeting high HOA. standards. This building has amenities and tight doorman security. Originally designed and built as the glamorous Alexander Hamilton hotel in 1929, it was one of the first non segregated buildings in the 30s, 40s and 50s. It was formally converted to condos in the 60s. If the walls could talk, they would have a lot to say! The Hamilton Hotel was well known for welcoming all races/denominations including many jazz, art and theater greats who visited the city for music, theater tours and productions. Some famous residents include Louis Armstrong, Vivian Vance, Miles Davis, Florence Henderson, Dizzy Gillespie and many other luminaries. When Diego Rivera was painting the mural at the Pacific Stock Exchange, he and Frida Kahlo were residents here too. The address is even on their marriage certificate- pretty cool!
A real good karma building before Civil Rights! Situated safely in the gentrified "Trendy-loin" and lower Nob Hill. The building also features a professional 24 hour guard/doorman who attends to entrance, deliveries and front door management and access. (Very NYC style). Security cameras are located throughout common spaces. The Hamilton is only blocks from art galleries, theater, eateries, Union Square and Top of the Mark as well as Market Street, Chase Center, Moscone Center, Van Ness and Polk street for movies, shopping and restaurants. Literally close to EVERYTHING . With a 98 walking score, you have foot, bicycle, scooter access to all of SF. All mass transit BART, MUNI and Ferries within blocks. Express Muni #38 right out the front door. Jet to Marin, East Bay, Wine Country and Silicon Valley or even Peninsula, Daly City and the Pacific ocean . This is a great place to live with a vibrant community of artists and professionals.
The ambiance has a "period" grand lobby and 16th floor sky deck. You can view stunning fireworks at Oracle Park during the spring and summer- even in the fall if the Giants make the playoffs :) Concerts and Warriors games at the Chase Center are nearby too
Additional features:
A fountain patio, gym and glamorous ballroom!
The amenities and common spaces are abundant and impressive.
As a classic Art Deco Moderne architectural landmark certified by the Historical society, the Hamilton building features tasteful appointments and deco design Tamara Lempika style art throughout. (Originals owned by Barbara Streisand and Madonna)

"Parades and civic events galore. Every parade in the city comes through here. Every protest does too. It’s the government center of the city and it’s the most diverse in the city too, but homelessness is a problematic here. "

"This area is gritty but super convenient when it comes to food, shopping, and transportation to anywhere. It is walkable but not desirable at night. Plenty of bars and clubs within blocks from Union Square. The area is unique with history and comes with its own unique vibe. Dirty and grungy to the point of charm but not dangerous to explore."

"I’ve been living here for more than 10 years. Homelessness has become a much bigger problem. Drugs dealings are everywhere. Streets are dirty. I don’t think the city is doing enough to solve it. But I love the restaurants around here...taste and affordable."
