"The homeless/drug using community in this area can be intense and would honestly not be something I would want a child around. "

"great neighborhood and we have made lots of families with young kids love here, especially folks that work in Soma and at UCSF in Mission Bay. Mission Bay in particular is a wonderful neighborhood with a growing number of family friendly amenities including the Children's Playground, the Dhalia School Montessori School, and the Farmer's Market at Chase Center. Would def recommend to people with young kids that are looking for a friendly neighborhood."

"It used to not be a great area until the hospital was developed there. Its become much safer since then! A lot of new apartment buildings have been built and are still being built and it feels like a nice little community."

"There is a lot of fast-moving traffic and frustrated drivers around the streets here around King St, so young children need to stay close. 4th St, south of the canal, is pretty nice, but there are still a lot of homeless in and out of the area."

  • Test T.
"Super convenient, clean and hip. As pretty as the hilly quaint neighborhoods are, there’s something really nice about being able to walk, jog, or bike on flat, wider streets with sidewalks. Also it’s warm and sunny! Cannot be stressed enough as much of San Francisco proper can be cold, foggy and/or windy. New coffee shops, bars and restaurants are opening every month. Very happening neighborhood! And sorry to say but one of the few neighborhoods where homeless population is very low. "

Great place to live to use Caltrain to southbay. 3 light rail MUNI lines, 4 Muni Bus Lines, coffee shops, restaurants, public library, banks, pharmacy, grocery stores, pist office all within a few blocks!"

  • Oceania A.
"The area is rather new with a lot of multi-function properties with retail on the bottom floor and residential on upper floors. It has attracted more influential businesses and a mix of residents. Everything is extremely convenient, from shopping to transportation, and a lot of planning went into the beautiful landscapes, community parks, and parking structures. The area is adjacent to AT&T Park, home of the SF Giants, so if you're a sports fan you can easily walk to the games and other events held at the Park. There are both low- and high-income-type properties, and the area attracts a diverse group of businesses and residents. It's high-density living, and there are not a lot of single-family-type homes in the area."
