"It can be loud on Park at night due to the bars/eateries, cars tend to drive very quickly. I don’t see many kids around, but I imagine that’s because they’re in their houses. Once you get farther from Park you’ll find more families."

"The best thing about living here is, well, there are a lot of things: shops, restaurants, bars/nightlife, great place to run/walk/bike, excellent park, very central to downtown, Balboa Park, Zoo, Mission Valley (shoping central!). We ride our bikes to games at PetCo too! The people who live here are engaged and very diverse (thank god) - it's a "live and let live" kind of neighborhood. It's not the 'burbs!"

  • Trulia User
"Nearby North Park & Hillcrest offer more amenities for around the same price (and slightly more chaos). This is a residential area but not as quiet as you might expect. Most of the old homes on larger lots have been converted to apts- parking is terrible and renters don't care for the community as the original property owners did."
