7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWe have been part of this school for more than 2 years, starting from K. We genuinely appreciate the rich diversity that the school fosters. The school employs a wide range of communication channels that actively involve and engage parents, keeping us informed and connected. The school offers an impressive array of after-school programs to cater to diverse interests and needs. The strong sense of safety and convenience we experience here, allows us to focus on our child's education with peace of mind. We have witnessed our children's growth both academically and socially.Parent Review6mo ago - Standley Middle School

7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI like being at Standley Middle and think it is a good school, but the people (mostly students) are just not fun to be around. There is A LOT of heavy swearing. Not to mention the occasional fight we hear about (I have never personally been in or seen a fight, but I have heard about them). There is also some "bullying," although it is mostly just mocking/making fun on other students. An example of this is when I was in the boys' locker room and right as we were all about to leave to our next period, an older boy sat on me while I was sitting on a bench and another boy, who was behind me, sprayed a load of what was probably Axe Body Spray on my back. I wouldn't consider that bullying, as it was mostly a joke, but I still didn't appreciate it. Although the people aren't the best, the teachers are very focused on learning, while still managing to sneak in some fun activities.Student Review4w ago - University City High School

9/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy straight A’s older daughter went through UC High school and it was a mediocre school. Too many students with good grades that they don’t appreciate or help out to get into good colleges. We parents had to help out our teenager at the last few months for college applications because the teachers and counselors were overwhelmed or didn’t care to help out. My younger daughter got into Charter school and had much better teachers, field trips to colleges, preps, help with writing essays, etc.Parent Review1y ago - Check out schools near 3957 Nobel Dr #215.

"I've never lived in a neighborhood with all the street lights are dark at night. People are pretty standoffish, but not rude. Every store you could possibly need is within a 5-15 minute drive and I see busses all the time. The neighborhood streets and sidewalks are very clean, it's a pretty area. Freeway access is very close."

"I like the neighborhood, I feel safe there. It’s a nice quiet neighborhood somewhere I can call home,"
- Austin N.

"Mostly families, students, medical professionals. Very clean, somewhat sterile area. I feel safe walking around, though getting around by car is most efficient. It is not the most lively neighborhood in San Diego, in fact it lacks character in my opinion. But if your income allows for it and you don't mind the sound of military jets at all hours of the day, this is the place for you! "

"The bus service in the neighborhood is just not very good except for around the university. The bus service around San Diego is really, really terrible. They are constructing an overhead tram that will improve public transport a lot, but won’t be completed for several years. "
