7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe school is subpar at best. There are rats and cockroaches (and other disgusting bugs) within the locker room. The PE teachers do not care about the health of students; they make them lie on the filthy gym floor everyday, and they never clean them. Some of the teachers here are great, but the other teachers can be somewhat of a martinet, being very critical, making students cry. I see students in the cafeteria running around like monkeys, chasing each other and putting one another in garbage cans, with no consequences. The curriculum is not challenging, as for the whole school year I have spent less than 8 hours total on homework. If you want your to have a good middle experience, do NOT send your child here.Student Review3y ago - Theodore Judah Elementary School

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy two kids go here, one in T-K and one in second grade. So far, I have been incredibly happy with this school. It has a small neighborhood feel, and I've always felt that all the other parents and teachers have their eye out on the kids to make sure they're safe. The principal is wonderful. He's very positive and involved in the campus, always saying hi to the kids and talking with them. He's like a rockstar to my kids. The office staff are also incredibly helpful and friendly, which seems to be an anomaly nowadays. So far, our teachers have been good, and the T-K and kindergarten programs have been warm and nurturing. My kids are actually strangely excited for the week to start so they can go back to school. The school culture is very positive. A new positive character trait is emphasized regularly, and there is a kindness program. My kids have never experienced any bullying, but I know it's taken very seriously when it happens. Parents are very involved and are welcomed to volunteer. I am by no means a "cool" mom, but I've always felt welcomed and appreciated. I love the holistic focus on the whole child here. Regular studies are augmented with gardening, music, art, and science. I also appreciate the historic school building, which is on the National Register of Historic Places. It might not always look brand new and sparkling, but it makes up for it in charm.Overall, a wonderful school with a nice group of kids, parents, and staff!Parent Review2y ago - Check out schools near 2519 S St #18.

What Locals Say about Newton Booth
- Ben

"This is one of the most truly livable neighborhoods in Midtown. It's walkable to more than just restaurants and bars, but grocery stores, pharmacies and a Post Office--the spots you really need for your everyday life. Most of the neighborhood is just far enough from retail corridors that the parking is ample and there are few disturbances. If you've lived in the grid for 10 years and want to put down roots, this should be top of your list."

"Lots of small animals in the area. I’ve seen raccoons, opossum, and mice/rats. Stray cats everywhere. Dog owners may like the neighborhood in the day, however. Lots of big trees for shade and plenty of sidewalk."

"It’s far enough from bars to avoid chaos but close enough if you don’t mind a solid 10 block walk. There are also two grocery stores in less than a mile. "
