2/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageJohn F. Kennedy High school is a great school for any student! It has extracurricular activities that will give a boost to your child's creative side, and the students will actually like it, because it's fun! Although it isn't the greatest school in the universes, it has a lot to offer. From free tutoring programs, to a study program so that those reporte cards will be great grades... Great just like our school, so hey folks, JFK is the right school for you. -Wanda Gonzalez 9th grader at JFK HighStudent Review9y ago - Fred T. Korematsu Middle School

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis lovely campus belies the deep, systemic failures now infecting public education in our golden state. In an effort for equity, not equality, the campus staff have attempted to ensure students fail equally: overcrowded classes, no academic challenges, barely homework, removal of gifted programs, no theatre arts, theft a constant companion. And for dessert, most restrooms are shut down due to vandalism. Infuriating as a parent, a tax payer, and a citizen.Parent Review11mo ago - Washington Elementary School

3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageReally disappointing. I knew going in that the school had bad ratings, as learning in a second language always causes a learning curve and can thus drop ratings, but I was not prepared for just how badly run the school would be. The office staff are wonderful, as are the librarian and music teachers, however the Principal is all talk and no action, very friendly but doesn't attempt to improve conditions for the children or teachers, for instance, a kindergarten teacher was pulled away 3 weeks in, right after the first parent/teacher conference, just ripped away, the children were then split up between a seasoned and a brand new teacher from Spain. The children in the teacher with experience at Washington had a very different year then the children in the alternative class, yet both had a lot of struggles. Children were not properly assessed for IEP's for extensive periods of time, including a child with Autism. Due to the poor leadership of the incoming Principal, her lack of fundraising initiatives or attempts to get volunteers or paid helpers for the unmanageable classes (despite parents best efforts to encourage or find ways to assist) the children and teachers suffered, a lot. If it weren't for a few parent volunteers who consistently showed up to help, things would have been much worse. It was very sad, particularly given what it might have been.Parent Review1y ago - Check out schools near 531 Tewksbury Ave.

"Stunning water views. Very nice neighbors!! Everyone has a dog! Yards are well kept and neat. I feel very safe here! I don’t have kids at home. They are all grown. I don’t know what to say to a parent?!"

"Amazing small town of two coffee shops, 8 restaurants, 3 bars, two grocers, plenty of hair salons, a dog park, a playground, a huge indoor historic swimming pool, and 5 min walk through the tunnel to beach and parks. It’s amazing and a hidden gem/bubble of the Bay Area most don’t know about. You cannot see it from the highway. Lower crime because the highway basically is a massive wall sectioning off the town and only two ways in/out."

"Great area - much safer on average than most of the surrounding areas. When moving to the Bay Area last year, we looked in Berkeley, Albany, Oakland, Richmond, Pinole, etc. In terms of price, safety, and activities, we felt confident choosing Point Richmond. It's an easy walk into the little historic downtown with shops and good restaurants, and nice hiking paths are also within easy reach for daily runs. It's also close to the bridge and an easy commute to the rest of the East Bay or north just across the bridge to Marin. "

"I have lived in the area for 2.5 years. There are car thefts, burgularies, abandoned vehicles, prostitution, and half way houses in this really small community. I have never ever lived in such a high crime area. At least 5 neighbors on my block and the next had their homes robbed. It is basically Richmond not Point Richmond."

"Moved here from Montclair/Oakland; great time to buy, fabulous neighbors. But Feagley Realty was/is an outfit to avoid."
