Theres a lot of gang members and also your avarage Joes. It's not exactly somewhere you would call safe or an ideal place for raising children. For as run down as Pomona is the rent is too high not to mention you would need transportation means for getting to any major market."

I remember as a kid I would go to the library with my mom and there was no homeless people there. Now it’s like a big community of them at the Pomona library and city hall. Seems like violence is also increasing. I wouldn’t want to raise a family here. "

    "The streets are really bad so many pot holes. Certain areas are flooded with prostitutes. Law enforcement drives right by them half naked on the streets. Although lately I’ve been seeing in the paper they have been busting the “johns”, idk why they don’t just scoop up the prostitutes that are out there in plain sight day and night "

    "Pavilion dr area is a cute little pocket community just north of Orange Grove Ave. 5 to 10 minutes from shopping restaurants, hiking, Bonneli Lake and park, 1 minute from the Fairplex for great annual events, 5 minutes to one of the top colleges in the country University of La Verne, or CAl Poly Pomona. Elementary school Cortez is magnet school specializing in Science and Math that has one of the highest APIs in the state getting 10 stars on Great Schools. Home prices are reasonable, the community is safe and the most diverse I have ever lived in (Caucasion, Asian, African American, Latino, Japanese, Chinese) which is very important to me and my husband. Most important it is a safe part of Pomona. "
