    "This is a bedroom community located at 4000 ft level. We can get quite a bit of snow when big storms hit, but if you buy a home located in a sunny area, this is important! it melts off fairly quickly. If you buy a home in a shaded area, or down in a hole, most homes are either up the side of a hill or down the side of a hill. Very few areas of Pollock Pines are flat! The streets that are shady stay cold and frozen during the winter months. If you want your driveways to stay fairly ice free, pick a home that has sun exposure. Shopping is very limited. We have a Safeway, CVS a few Auto Parts stores and a few mom and pop Restaurants. A family dollar store is being built. That's it! Everything else is 20 minutes down the hill to Placerville. If you want to really shop, then you would drive to the Folsom Area. Most people who live up here are retired or are young families. Most of the working class have jobs that they commute to. We are located next to US Forestry Land. Just a short drive to use your quads, motorcycles, snowmobiles, go shooting..hunting. Camping, whatever your heart desires. It's a great place to live. Jenkinson Lake or Sly Park Lake is just minutes away. We have 2 Homeowner Associations here. I would highly recommend buying in one of these if you have kids. There is not much for the kids to do in Pollock Pines. We currently do not have a park. With the HOA, you get Pool's, tennis courts, basket ball courts, picnic & bbq area's, walking trails & more. You can rent out the lodge for reasonable fee's for special events. It's really nice. If you don't mind a little driving, this is a great place to live. You get more home for your money and the view's and sunrises/sunsets here are spectacular! It's so quiet, that when we first moved here from the city, we couldn't sleep! The people up here are really friendly too. It's a safe place to live and raise a family. "
