Get away while you can!!!This school is a cesspool of horrible teachers, violence, ridiculous incompetent teachers, a bitter unresponsive principal, and a superintendent that cares more about race than education and fairness. Sending you kid here is child abuse!

Collaborative environment with staff that really cares. Teachers are very experienced, lots of art and music, PE, chromebooks for every kid, social emotional learning. Frequent “family day” projects where a child from each grade works together on a project, these “families” stay consistent throughout their time at Cabrillo. My 5th grader has been there since Kindergarten. She is proficient in Google Classroom yet she can also read and write in cursive. We have had years that we like certain teachers more than others but overall she is learning at grade level, her creativity is being fostered with dance, poetry and music classes, and she has a lot of social time with good friends. Fun after school enrichment classes available. Room for improvement: If your kid has an issue with another student or teacher, you/they have to be very persistent because staff tries to blow it off. We have had years with LOTS of homework. Some of the teachers lack growth mindset - have been there for many years and don’t feel they need to change methods. That may be true but some of the old guard seem to be biding their time while waiting to retire. No organized sports available at school. Occasionally after school run club or softball is offered. Despite these negative aspects we are happy with our child’s time at Cabrillo so far. Our kid will be well prepared for High School when she leaves, and will have many good memories with her friends.

a lot of inexperienced teachers and other teachers that are very rude to the kids and parents too. the principal sides with teachers even though she does not know the whole story. they lost good families because of this look at their score

My review is for the 2022-23 school year (as far as my principal comments). The principal who left after 1 yr was not at all supportive of middle schoolers, in particular those with IEPs. Also the RSP teacher didn’t even hold a credential, not to mention no SPED credential. We had a handful of excellent teachers at VM but the few awful ones really soured our experience. I know of MANY students who transferred out to avoid the 8th grade teacher (they had her in 7th grade). Sad these kids have been there since Kinder had to leave because of a teacher who made their lives miserable.

The teachers, staff, and students are overall caring, engaged, and good people. Furthermore, the campus is beautiful. The problem primarily stems from one top administrator at the school. This individual's energy is toxic and contributes to an unpleasant atmosphere leading to high staff turnover and students that dislike her. It is sad to see the negative effects that one top admin has on a school.

The worse middle school in Pacifica. They don’t know how to handle the bullying situation, they don’t have specific plans in the management of this situation and ended up leaving the parents outside, and the students with more emotional problems.

Not a great recommendation very easy on homework and isn’t very good with education and teaching
